Today we’d like to introduce you to Craig Mason.
Hi Craig, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Myndset started as a coffee meet-up between Craig and Jeff and their shared passion for building mental strength upstream. Mental Health has it’s crisis prevention and coping model at one end and the other end is training mental strength as a competitive advantage for the highest performers in the world.
We both loved the idea of scaling the work Jeff had done turning high potential in to podium performance and got to work building Myndset the anytime, anywhere performance coach in your pocket to build mental strength of athletes and high performers.
Fast forward almost a year and Myndset has had hundreds of users and 15,000+ workouts on our app with elite golfers, NFL players top performers in all fields attributing Myndset to better and more consistent performance when it mattered most. We are in process of building amazing partnerships and continuing on our growth journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing in a startup is truly smooth, but our journey has been an exciting one! Capital has come slow, and getting first customers always takes time, but progress has been exciting. The original app we launched was pretty buggy which caused higher retention issues than we had hoped but have worked through those with the latest version we are in process of building.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Myndset?
Myndset delivers performance under pressure at scale, reducing volatility across teams, improving confidence through more consistent performance turning high potential into podium level performance. We love the ‘Myndset’ branding, it came to us so naturally and fits so well with what we are doing. We also had the opportunity to partner with the University of Kansas on a marketing project for a semester to really enhance our brand, logo, approach and more. It has been really a real treat to get so much positive feedback on the branding and styling that matching the critical mental performance elevation we are delivering to high performers.
What are your plans for the future?
Building Myndset for athletes has been a great foundation to our broader growth strategy and impact vision.
We started in athletics because sports expose pressure in its purest form. What we’re now seeing from corporate teams is that the same problem exists anywhere performance breaks down under pressure: hesitation before the moment, spiral after the mistake, and no trained protocol to recover.
We are building Myndset to be the mental performance operating system for all high performers and plan to collaborate with other experts and organizations in the space to accelerate their scalability and reach by embedding their work into Myndset to truly become the anytime anywhere performance coach in your pocket for teams and organizations.
