Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Bauer.
Hi Courtney, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In 2019 my husband, Ryan, and I began our journey with a vacant piece of property that we had purchsed. We saw a need in the community for quality storage options that were both secure and easy to access. We had done some research and discussed the possibility of building and opening a storage facility on the property.
It didn’t take long before we decided to move forward and started construction on our first facility. We opened in 2020 in Cleveland, Missouri, and jumped feet first into the industry. We were both involved in every step, from construction and planning to meeting customers and sweeping out units. That personal involvement helped us to understand what people actually needed from a storage facility.
In 2024, we had the opportunity to purchase 3 more storage facilities in Kansas, along with an RV Park to add to our portfolio. The RV Park was an entire new venture that we had no idea about navagating but were excited to put our personal touches and effort into. We knew it was a place that people were going to come relax and possibly live, so we wanted to make it clean and inviting.
Recently, in April of this year we purchased and added two more storage facilities, this brought us to a total of 6 locations and approximately 800 units in Kansas and Missouri.
No matter how big we get, we’ll stay true to who we are, a local, family owned business that puts our customers’ needs first.
Each new facility feels like a milestone that we built together.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was a challenge learning everything from the ground up, literally. But we took it one step at a time and have become a trusted name across Kansas and Missouri – known for clean, secure facilities with a personal touch that only a family-run business can offer.
Operating multiple locations also means juggling a lot of details – making sure every customer feels cared for and every facility runs smoothly. Our software, teamwork and communication is the backbone of our day to day.
Taking ownership of the other facilities that were already operating was a major challenge. Gaining the trust of those tenants and proving our dedication has been a hurdle that I feel we have finally, successfully overcome. There are a lot of behind the scenes obstacles within the business that we have really had to put our heads together and figure out a way to make it all work.
The journey hasn’t been easy and building our business has been a true team effort. We’ve really built something we’re proud of.

Our roots are right here in Kansas and Missouri and we take pride in being part of the communities we service. We are known for our clean and secure facilities and our attentiveness to the personalized needs of our tenants, and that really sets us apart.
I would say that we are most proud of providing something useful and reliable. When our customers call, they speak with us, not a call center and I feel that it is really appreciated and trusted.
What started as an idea drawn on a napkin at a restaurant, to build a single storage facility right down the road from us, has quickly grown into something much larger. We have poured so much time, energy and heart into this business and we are proud of that.

Any big plans?
We are always looking for smart ways to grow, whether that be new locations or within our current facilities.
Our goals for the future are to continue with our trusted customer service and to make renting storage convenient for customers.
We are always looking for ways to expand and bring more storage solutions to each location. We have added commercial buildings that provide local businesses a flexible place to operate and grow, and we plan to add more of these spaces.
We also offer RV/Boat storage, this is a very popular option for those looking to free up some space or for those that are just not able to park at their homes. We plan to add more options like this as well.
