Hi Chris, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hammer and Nails in Leawood opened just under two years ago. We are a luxury men’s grooming experience inclusive of high-end cut and shave, luxurious hand and foot services, a full bar, and in an environment designed to let guys relax and take care of themselves.
The local shop was founded by Chris Lahna, a Kansas City resident who wanted to bring the ultimate luxury grooming experience for men to Kansas City. Our team members are artists of their trades, trained to give you both the best service and overall experience.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any business, we are growing and have our ups and downs. Today we have nearly 500 members and roughly the same number of regular guests. We are pleased to be serving the South KC Metro communities!

Today’s extraordinary man deserves a luxury grooming experience that tends to the whole man. Hammer & Nails Grooming for Guys provides a relaxing space that’s far from take-a-number farms and pedicure stations that reek of acrylic fumes. It’s time to care about the care that goes into men’s barbering, beard care, and hand and foot services. And it starts at a place where men’s care is all we care about. That, and a good drink.
What’s next?
We are excited to continue our growth in Leawood, and we are thrilled to share that we will be opening our second KC Metro location at Lenexa City Center in Spring of 2026.
Pricing:
- We are a membership-based model. You don’t have to be a member to visit, but our members get perks like free upgrade days, discounts on product, and a drink included with every visit.
- Our memberships are no-commitment – you can cancel at any time, unused credits roll over to the next month, and you can use credits for friends, family, and clients.
- Luxe is our most luxurious membership. It is unlimited – you can come as often as you want and get the most luxurious services.
- VIP is our most popular membership. It comes with 3 premium services a month plus an add-on like waxing or hair/beard camo.
- Classic is our base membership and included 2 classic services a month.
