Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Harlan.
Hi Chris, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My chiropractic journey began with a deep belief that the body is designed to heal — that health doesn’t come from the outside in, but from the inside out. Before I ever opened Harlan Chiropractic in Overland Park, I experienced firsthand how powerful natural healing can be. What started as a curiosity about how the body works turned into a calling to help others live at their fullest potential.
In the early years, I worked long days and late nights, learning the ins and outs of patient care, paperwork, and purpose. I saw how stress, injuries, and lifestyle habits affected families — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. I realized that true chiropractic care isn’t just about pain relief — it’s about restoring hope, function, and quality of life.
Through continued education, mentorship, and a lot of trial and growth, I built a practice centered on family wellness, pediatric and prenatal care, and holistic health. Along the way, I added new technologies like Insight scans to better understand and support each patient’s nervous system.
Today, Harlan Chiropractic is more than just a clinic — it’s a place where families find answers, balance, and long-term healing. From the first-time mom looking for pregnancy support to the athlete wanting to perform their best, every person who walks through our doors becomes part of our story.
It’s been a journey of faith, perseverance, and purpose — and it’s only just beginning. My mission is simple: to serve, to educate, and to empower families to live healthier, more connected lives — naturally.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Harlan Chiropractic and Acupuncture?
At Harlan Chiropractic, our mission is simple: to help families live healthier, more connected lives by restoring the body’s natural ability to heal. We focus on family wellness — caring for everyone from newborns and expecting moms to athletes and grandparents. Our approach is centered on the nervous system because we believe that true health starts from within.
We specialize in prenatal and pediatric chiropractic care, as well as family wellness and performance care. Many families come to us after trying everything else, and what they find is a different kind of experience — one that focuses on why their body isn’t functioning properly, not just on masking symptoms. We use advanced Insight scanning technology to get a clear picture of how stress is impacting the body and design care plans to help restore balance and long-term function.
What truly sets us apart is our heart. Everything we do is grounded in faith and purpose. We’re not here to just “crack backs” — we’re here to serve, to educate, and to empower people to take ownership of their health. Our team cares deeply, our office feels like family, and we want every patient — from the fussy newborn to the busy parent — to feel seen, heard, and cared for.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built in the Overland Park community. Families know us for being honest, authentic, and passionate about their results. We’ve grown mostly through word of mouth, and that means everything to me.
If readers take away one thing about Harlan Chiropractic, I hope it’s this: we’re a faith-driven family practice built on hope, connection, and a belief that your body is capable of incredible healing when given the right care.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Absolutely. I’ve learned that you’re not meant to do it alone. Early on, I had a lot of help from my family — I actually come from a family of chiropractors, so I was surrounded by people who understood the heart, the hustle, and the purpose behind this work. Their guidance gave me a strong foundation and helped me avoid some of the early pitfalls that come with starting a practice.
As I grew, I realized how important it was to keep learning from others who were ahead of me. I’ve been part of several chiropractic-centered mentor groups like Pinnacle, Focus, and currently Pediatric Experience, and each one has played a huge role in shaping how I lead and serve today. These communities challenged me to think bigger, refine my systems, and stay focused on the “why” behind what we do.
For me, mentorship has always started with faith — asking God to bring the right people into my life at the right time. The best mentors not only teach you business and technique, they help you grow in character, mindset, and purpose.
When it comes to networking, I believe in building authentic relationships over superficial ones. The most impactful connections I’ve made weren’t at big events or through social media — they were through genuine conversations, showing up consistently, and caring about others’ success as much as my own.
If I could give one piece of advice, it would be this: stay humble, stay teachable, and stay connected to your purpose. The right mentors and community will find you when you’re walking in alignment with what God’s called you to do.
