Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlisha Duffey

Carlisha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am originally from Dallas/ Houston Tx. I have lived all over, but one thing that remains is, “You can take the Girl out of the South, but You can’t take the South out of the Girl.” Those early teachings, signature mannerisms and my passion for helping others gave birth to Southern Girl Industries. That Southern Hospitality is ingrained and integrated into the backbone of each of my business endeavors.

It took years to get to where I am, and to become who I am, and I am still evolving. I always joke and say I spelled my name in the sky before I figured out what I was supposed to be doing with my life, but the journey has proven to be worth it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to where I am today, has been anything but easy. I was what you call a late bloomer. My gifts and talents didn’t reveal themselves until most others my age had already discovered theirs.

I had to overcome a lot of challenges and setbacks, but it turned out each of those obstacles had a purpose connected to my future. I am now sharing those stories & testimonies helping and encouraging others. Because, of my life’s journey and struggles, I can identify when others are in need and I just seem to know what story to share, words to say, or what Product/Service to create to help them.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our Most Recent Launch is Blk Spiritualist.

Blk Spiritualist, is Your One-Stop-Shop for unique Jewelry, Crystals, Books & More. Our Collections are curated to help you Elevate Your Energy, Find Your Voice and Tap Into your Magic.

Most of our other business endeavors are Service based, but Blk Spiritualist, is the first product based endeavor Southern Girl Industries has launched. I was also blessed to launch Blk Spiritualist with my two sisters.

We each wanted to create Blk Spiritualist for various reasons, but for me I was searching for a resource. I was looking for unique finds, and a safe space where I felt seen and heard. I couldn’t find that, so my sisters and I created it instead.

There are plenty of other Metaphysical type stores in the market. We love to visit them and see what is out there, but the common feeling my sisters and I had individually and collectively… is that it always felt like something was missing. We often didn’t see artwork by Blk Artists or the items on display would just be too much or too little for our taste.

The miseducation of our Culture, or lack there of also prompted conversations that lead to us taking action… that lead to the birth and launch of Blk Spiritualist.

We knew this went beyond feeling this pain point ourselves. We recognized early on Blk Spiritualist had the potential of being life changing not just for us three, but for anyone else who may be feeling and/or experiencing what We have felt and experienced.

We have something for Everyone. I am really proud of how the brand has evolved. We have managed to integrate each of our unique skills and passions, so I feel really confident that We have the means to reach a variety of people to where they feel seen and heard. I look forward to seeing Blk Spiritualist grow and witness the impact that it will have on others.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see a shift taking place already, so in the next 5- 10 years, there will be a lot more People who are liberated. Generational Curses will be broken. Generational Wealth will be built. People will break the chains in their minds telling them that they can’t… they will learn that they can. I see people taking control of their lives, taking the trips they had on their Pinterest board. I see People happy and healthy.

Right now it’s a trickle… but a wave is coming. Now is the time to get to work, We have all come too far to give up. We are closer to our breakthroughs. In 5- 10 years or sooner, We are going to see a lot of people make it to the other side of their struggles and challenges that they are going through now. I see People being set free, Mentally, Physically and Spiritually.
