Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelica Aviles.
Hi Angelica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a passion for makeup since I was a young teenager. I was struggling with depression as a teenager due to issues going on at home, within myself, & school. It was a way for me to cope and block everything out by practicing makeup tutorials I found on YouTube.
I got out of high school and had a mini midlife crisis trying to decide what I wanted to do. I went to college for two weeks and dropped out. It’s not for everybody and that’s ok. I had to really sit down and think about what I liked doing. At the time I was working two jobs I was 18. I’ve always had a passion for beauty and makeup so decided to start taking makeup clients. I started building my portfolio as a makeup artist and promoting myself on social media etc. I worked at Sephora on the plaza for a while. I left there & really wanted to invest into my own business & brand.
A lot of people started coming to me through word of mouth and it picked up fast. But while I was becoming known for makeup I always made sure I educated myself on skin prep. Due to different skin types, conditions, & disorders you can’t put the same type of makeup product on every client. I really started to study the skin and wanted to further my education in that.
So while working two jobs and doing makeup on the side at my dad’s house ( I had a little makeup studio upstairs in his house) I enrolled into esthetician full time in the year of 2020. I worked while going to school. It was hard but I did it. I graduated on time I was the first in my class to graduate. It was one of the best years of my life. I opened up my esthetician business right after that. I’ve had a couple detours down the road from that. But all I have done was prevail & excel. 🙏🏼
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This journey definitely hasn’t been easy. I’ve lost people along the way. I’ve learned alot of lessons when it comes to business. Being an entrepreneur isn’t easy & it’s not for the weak or lazy. I have worked hard to get to where I’m at. I’ve got a lot of things on my own with zero handouts. I can definitely say I’m blessed & it’s all because of God.
I’ve had to push myself where days I didn’t feel like it. Also by not being in comparison with others journeys or businesses.
I’ve had to stop my business several times from having my daughter, being a stay at home mom for a while, moving, etc. But I realized over the course of time that God doesn’t give us more than what we can handle. Every set back, and obstacle, & trial has only made me stronger!

My name is Angelica Aviles. I’m a licensed Esthetician and makeup artist. I am faith based. I am a Christian entrepreneur. I service both men and women from all walks of life. My area is a safe space where healing takes place. It’s much bigger than beauty to me within my business.
I do offer facial services, full body/face waxing, Swedish massage, & makeup application.
I am proud to have Christ at the center of my life but especially in my business. God has given me a platform to reach people through the beauty industry to share the Good News & just to share my testimony with others. Just to plant a seed and be that light in the darkness of this world I’m blessed to do so. Working with so many people daily, weekly, monthly, & yearly to be able to not just service but to share and inspire others what Jesus has done for me. I’m grateful for the experience.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Oh man haha I had my ways as a teenager for sure. I’m sure as a child I was sweet and kind. I still am. But definitely as a teenager I was rebellious. I was dealing with a lot internally and I acted out. I got into trouble for sure and got lost along the way. But I found myself again and got my life back on track which I’m thankful for. But I’ve always been a hard worker! It’s in my blood. I’ve always been respectful and kind to people. I was very outgoing and creative growing up. I loved being outside, I had a-lot of interest in beauty supplies etc
