Hi Alexa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My photography journey started in 2021 when I got my first camera which was actually a film camera! Originally, my goal was to shoot concerts and festivals on film. However, over the years, seniors and other portrait types have become my niche! Senior photography has really boosted my business these past few years which has been an absolute blessing! Just this summer, I was able to take my business my full time. Being able to pour everything I have into my work and clients means everything to me! This coming year, I’ll be furthering my photography business in many exciting ways. One being shooting weddings! I am beyond grateful for the love I’ve received from my clients and KC creative community.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, I got really lucky with the immense support I’ve gotten since I’ve started photography. However, I do struggle inward with my work from time to time as most creatives & business owners do! Trying to balance my business and person life has not been easy for me. I tend to over work myself with late nights, feeling guilty enjoying down time, skipping out on plans to get more work done, and responding to clients as soon as they reach out no matter what I’m doing. Wearing all of the hats isn’t always easy, but I wouldn’t trade my business for anything!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Alexa K. Photos?
Alexa K. Photos is my personal photography business located in Kansas City! I specialize in portrait photography (seniors, families, maternity, branding, couples, weddings). In general, I’m known mostly for my senior sessions! While I LOVE senior photography and plan to always offer this service, I’m hoping to dip my toes more into branding sessions and weddings within the next year. However at the end of the day, my main focus in my business from start to finish is the client experience! Making my clients as comfortable as possible and ensuring that they love their session experience just as much as their photos… I can’t think of anything more important! The number one thing I hear in client reviews is that their sessions with me were fun and comfortable which I take great pride in:)

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Remaining organized, focused, responsible, and most importantly KIND and GRATEFUL! I could not be here without the support from my amazing clients.
