Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being an author is a journey filled with both excitement and challenges. It’s rarely a smooth road and many beginning authors face struggles along the way.
Some examples include:
Writers Block – Finding inspiration and maintaining creativity can be difficult, leading to periods of where writing feels impossible.
Self-Doubt – Many new authors struggle with confidence in their writing abilities and fear their work wont be well received.
Time Management – Balancing writing with other responsibilities such as a day job, or family can be challenging.
Other struggles include Publishing Hurdles, as well as Financial Strain
Despite these challenges, the journey can be incredibly rewarding. Each struggles offers a learning opportunity and contributes to personal and professional growth and development.
Always Remember “That Calm Seas, Never Made a Skilled Sailor”
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in sharing my words with the world in a unique way. I have always had a passion for writing ever since I was a kid. I wrote my first rap song at the age of 12 and wrote thousands of songs after then. To me, when I am writing, I am truly free. Free from the pressures of society, it helps with my anxiety and is a creative form of sobriety.
I am most proud of my family. They are my most valuable resource. My sons and my wife are my world. Everything that I do is for them. I want to inspire and motivate them, as well as learn from them so that we all can be successful in our endeavors.
I believe the thing that sets me apart is my resilience. The dictionary defines resilience as “the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties”. and that is my story through and through. I have led a very hard life and have overcome so many obstacles, failures, and devastating setbacks. However, I still remain resolute, and unwavering in my commitment to being the best version of myself that I can be!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory would be the first time I performed on stage at a local talent show. Both of my parents and my older brothers were there. I did a solo dance routine to M.C. Hammer’s smash 1990 song “You Can’t Touch This”. I really do not remember being nervous, maybe just a little bit backstage. When they cut the music on and I seen the lights, and saw the crowd, that fear just disappeared and I immediately started doing my thing! It helped that my family was on the front screaming “GO Tonni! Go Tonni, Go Tonni!”. I wish we would have had a camcorder and recorded that performance. Good Times for sure!
