Daily Inspiration: Meet Sha-Leah Jeannyne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sha-Leah Jeannyne.

Hi Sha-Leah , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Working in early childhood for 16 years, and as a single mom of 2 girls, I always knew that I wanted to teach my girls about self care and to show them how to live a healthy life in all aspects. In 2020, I was able to put these lessons into practice.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was able to open The Twat Spot, which was a yoni wellness space that allowed women to come and yoni steam, purchase yoni products, or to just ask questions. I was moved to do this because people were becoming more health conscious and wanted natural ways to heal their bodies.

I am currently the director of the Erma L. Williams Learning Center at Paseo Baptist Church here in Kansas City Missouri. There is an unmatched sense of professional pride when you watch preschoolers confidently master early literacy, grasp advanced numerical reasoning, or seamlessly switch between English, Spanish, French, or sign language. Knowing your curriculum and leadership helps hold the foundation that was built is incredibly fulfilling.

I am, also, using my voice and experiences to walk people through their personal healing journeys. I started a YouTube channel (Product of a Pimp & Preacher) that allows me to open up about experiences, lessons, and direction. On this platform, I’m able to dive into raw stories of survival, faith, and the messy middle
From all my endeavors and watching the economy change, I have, now, began our non profit (From Pieces to Peace) to assist in unforseen life transitions. We are working to build communities that temporarily rent to people in different life transitions while offering a range of significant benefits. Primarily by providing a stable, affordable, and supportive environment for individuals who are otherwise struggling to find housing.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It wasn’t smooth in the beginning. It has become easier as I learn new things, as I grow my abilities, and as open my heart and mind to new ideas

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in community empowerment and foundational growth. As an early childhood director, I build strong starts for our youngest learners; through my non-profit, I help families rebuild their lives with transitional housing; and through my podcast, I share uplifting perspectives to help people unlock their full potential.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe that you have to take risk in order to thrive or even to stretch yourself farther. I have taken risk. I don’t know if I would measure the risks that I have taken as being big. However, I’ve had to take financial risk in order to allow my business to grow.
Whether you’re a risk taker or not, it is very important to calculate the cost. What are you willing to invest or what are you willing to give up in order to receive/reach your goals.
