Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Pierrelee
Hi Sarah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve grown-up doing my friends makeup as long as I can remember, and as I got older, it became a talent that I felt other people may want to utilize. Through all the wonderful people I’ve met in our community, I have been able to build a network of people who love to look their best, but also want to feel like they look like themselves. I think that is kind of my niche and I’m so grateful that I have been able to turn my passion into a business. It has become something that I feel so blessed to share with people because the power of makeup and how it makes you feel can never be denied.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think my biggest obstacle has been self-doubt. Sometimes just worrying that maybe my vision for a makeup look won’t be the same vision that my client has in their mind – even after the consultation. But I think as an artist, being able to be genuine in yourself and feel confident in having an eye for beauty (and also being able to take criticism and adapt accordingly), is probably one of the most important things for me to be successful in this industry!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
The old saying “when you look good, you feel good”, really does hold a lot of truth. How we carry ourselves and how much we believe in ourselves can have an impact on our day and our opportunities. I think something that I feel most proud of is being able to show someone who has maybe never put much effort into their makeup and have them come in feeling a little nervous, and by the end, they asking for product recommendations and tips on how to recreate the look we just did! It feels good knowing that just by taking a little time for yourself has opened a whole new world to someone, and that I was able to kind of break their fear of what makeup could be. Because it doesn’t have to be a mask – it can be a tool to highlight what you already have!
How do you think about happiness?
Nothing makes me happier than making people smile and seeing them have fun. Life’s too short not to soak up the good times.
