Daily Inspiration: Meet Ryan Wooden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Wooden.

Hi Ryan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I got started in the mortage industry in 2022 after I had used LeaderOne Financial for my personal mortgage on my first home a few years prior. I had identified a gap in the industry that I thought I would be able to make in impact if I joined up with my loan officer and her team. After a few conversations and some research on my end I joined the team as Business Development Manager in early 2022. We did not have a road map for how this position was supposed to look and that year was one of the most challenging years to work in mortgage in the past 30+ years. Since that first year my role has evolved and we have grown to six loan officers and a team of three business development professionals on the iLoveKC Team with LeaderOne Financial. The role has proven to add value to all of our referral partners as well as adding value to all of our Loan Officers on the team. Much of what I do day-to-day involves connecting the dots for agents around the KC metro and beyond. Identifying opportunities, strategizing with my partners, and business planning are just some of the ways that I impact not only the business of our team but our partners as well. This year (2025) has been all about growth as we have grown our team, expanded our reach, and are actively recruiting for business development professionals who are looking to make an impact and grow with us!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As with anything when you start in a brand new industry, the ramp up time involved a ton of learning, self reflection, and open mindedness to grow. My background is in luxury sales management but more business-to-consumer focused and less business-to-business. This shift, for me, was really a great opportunity to grow and expand my skillset but did not come without growing pains. I had left a successful career, switched industries, and started from scratch but having the experience of my team behind me gave me the confidence to go into each and every new meeting with my head held high and ready to make magic happen with our new referral partners.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The iLoveKC Team is a team of loan officers and business development professionals who help with any and all of your residential mortgage needs. We are known for our work with all types of home buyers with specialists on the team in several different areas including, first time, VA, down payment assistance programs, refinance and debt consolidation, as well as investors alike. We are proud to say that once we are introduced to a potential homebuyer that we are in it with them, side by side, through the end. Whether that looks like a quick an easy turn around or if that homebuyer needs a little more help to get to where they need to be, we pride ourselves on taking the time to walk each homebuyer through the process from start to finish.

What does success mean to you?
Success for myself and my team looks like the smiles on faces at the closing table but also the relationship beyond the close. We stay involved with our clients and really make them part of our iLoveKC family. The biggest wins come from the special moments with home buyers who may not have believed they could and we were able to show them a path to home ownership that they would not have otherwise found. The biggest compliment comes from when our clients refer to us after the sale.
