Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Young

Hi Michael, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I never seen myself as a male model or influencer. Until one day a women stopped me while I was at work one day and asked me what was I doing. I laughed and I told the women I’m working, she asked the same question again and I responded what do you mean ma’am? She then told me why wasn’t I modeling and in the industry. Long story short it’s always been a stigma for male models and I didn’t want to be apart of that stigma until that day it made me realize I had a personality and certain look that I could help the next person that’s like minded as me that they also can be a male model and bypass the stigma of it all. Worked on being a male model ever since.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No it hasn’t, it still isn’t. I stopped and kept going on so many times. The obstacles that I personally ran into made me question if I really wanted to be who GOD made me to be and put me here to be. It’s a struggle but it’s something that I still see myself doing. That one spotlight can change your life. I’m working towards that

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Though I model, I also put myself as an influencer and creative. Myself I believe I have an impact on fashion, stepping out the box and the original norm of things. I did my first runway in 2021 and it made me realize that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. The thing I think that sets me apart from others is simple. I’m different. Not in a cocky way but just having the mind process of I don’t care what people think to a certain extent but I’m going to do something because I purely like it regardless of the positive or negative words. Some people catch on sooner or later.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
GOD. Without him I wouldn’t be anything nonetheless but right under that is family and friends. They rise me up out of situations everyday just by being existent and show me pure love daily. Forever thankful and grateful for them.
