Daily Inspiration: Meet Matthew Enos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Enos.

Hi Matthew, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I started my modeling career here in Kansas City over 20 years ago. One of my biggest jobs early in my career was being a featured extra for the HBO Original Movie Truman starring Gary Sinise. It was filmed here at many surrounding locations near Kansas City. Since then, I have accumulated many talent agents in thirty different cities. I have been in ten national commercials which include

Hallmark

Bass Pro Shops

Lee Jeans

Sprint

Mrs. Field’s Cookies

Grasshopper Mowers

Sears

Omaha Steaks

Grantham University

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A lot of rejection. When you have this many agents sending you castings weekly you go for everything. Most times you don’t get selected but you have to persist and not give up. Early in my career, it was more for fun and extra money. When I started treating my career like a business then more doors and opportunities started to come my way. When I started to take things more serious, I wanted sign more contracts with out-of-town agents. I spent several hours a week submitting my portfolio and resume to agents and went through a lot of rejection from that. I knew if I persisted to push and not give up, I would eventually find agents who wanted to sign me on.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Professional Model & Actor

What sets me apart from other models is that I would say I have expanded my services into many large cities. I meet and work with models on many jobs that didn’t know they could do what I do. They only see themselves working for their local agent. I always tell and encourage them to pursue other markets. I tell them that no one is stopping me and they are putting limits on themselves.

Another really cool thing that has happened is that now my wife and kids have appeared in many ads and commercials with me.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I can’t say I one. But I remember always pretending I was shooting a movie or something for fun. I used to think I was going to be on TV someday.
