Daily Inspiration: Meet Liz Concannon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Concannon

Liz, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I graduated from Missouri State University in Dec 2023 with a major in graphic design and a minor in photography. After graduating I realized I want to pursue photography more than graphic design and that was really solidified when I started photographing live music events!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not entirely! Building my confidence wasn’t always easy. I had to put myself out there and get out of my comfort zone a lot, especially when reaching out to customers to offer my services. I am, however, pleasantly surprised with the amount of freelance projects I’ve done since graduating!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in event and live music photography but I’d also like to pursue nature/underwater photography. I’m known for my unique, grungy style. I’m most proud of my underwater photography and I think that along with my ability to have range while also having a unique style sets me apart.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the communities and art scenes! I feel represented as a queer artist! I’ve grown to like smaller cities, so maybe I wouldn’t mind it being smaller!
