Daily Inspiration: Meet Leah Morgan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Morgan.

Leah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I opened my first yoga studio in Lee’s Summit over 18 years ago. After 3 years with a partner, I left to create my own vision, Core Balance Yoga Center. We are a boutique, alignment based yoga studio with a goal to not only teach people how to practice properly, but to have FUN while doing it! We take yoga seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We keep things lighthearted and community oriented. We also run international yoga retreats all over the world and lead a 200 hour yoga teacher training called Kansas City Yoga Teacher Training.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Deciding my values didn’t align with my partner at my first studio was a tough realization, but I looked at that first 3 years as ‘Yoga Business School’ and took my knowledge, the highs and the lows, and created something unique and special. We are the longest running studio in the area and have served thousands of students over the years.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m known for helping people grow with yoga safely, using proper technique and alignment. What sets us apart is that we don’t focus on offering a huge numbers of classes, with a zillion teachers. We have well thought out, curated classes with experienced, professional teachers.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Flexibility! (no pun intended). If something isn’t working, we quickly pivot and try new things.

• Brand new beginners to advanced are welcome
• We offer classes 7 days a week, including Zoom and On Demand so people can join us from ANYWHERE.
