Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenda Graves.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My true beginning as a creative started when I was 3 years old. The family and I were having an outing, and this guy was playing background music on the piano. I fearlessly jumped on stage and danced to his music. Ever since then, life has aligned me with leadership roles in a creative element, sparking my entrepreneurial journey. Whether I’m using a camera, writing, painting, cooking, dancing, playing an instrument (even it only lasted a couple months) I can’t stay away from a creative outlet.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Anything worth having doesn’t come easy. I’ve experienced the lowest of lows and the highest of highs on this journey. I’ve learned to embrace the “no’s” and the closed doors and use them as motivation to prove to myself I am capable and worthy. I’ve risked it all to pursue my purpose and even during the times it doesn’t seem worth it I still keep going. I will say, I think my biggest obstacle was myself. I started young so I had to not only learn myself, but life. Maturing and growing has really been the turning point in all of this.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a traveling visual curator, specializing in photography, videography, visual storytelling, and cultural event planning. I also dabble in brand development for small businesses and bookings for artists.
Sometimes it’s hard to explain all that I do because I’m very hands on and can just do what needs to be done. I take care of a lot of logistical administrative tasks, social media management, and creating partnerships for micro influencers. My capability and ability to travel is what sets me apart from others.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as having stability, peace, and choice. It’s the little things that add up and allow someone to be successful.
