Daily Inspiration: Meet Julius Matthews

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julius Matthews. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Julius Keith Matthews was born March 9, 1987, in Birmingham, AL, to Julius O Matthews and Anita Austin (Finn). The first six years were spent at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California because his father was stationed there. Then the family would move back to Birmingham, where Julius would attend Glen Iris Elementary, Center Street Middle, Ramsay High, and Huffman High School. At Huffman High School, Julius participated on the soccer team football team and became a Beta Club member. Upon graduating in 2005, Julius attended Holmes Community College in Ridgeland, MS. After a year, Julius returned home and worked for approximately 18 months before entering the United States Air Force. Julius would serve in Security Forces (law enforcement & security) as a patrolman, alarm monitor, vehicle search, response force member, supervisor, and unit deployment manager. Julius would obtain his Community College of the Air Force associate degree in Criminal Justice. After eight years of service, an Achievement Medal, and 3 deployments, Julius separated from the military, attended National University in San Diego, CA, and obtained a BS in Criminal Justice Administration with a minor in Psychology. Finally, Julius would return to Birmingham and work as a private investigator. From there, Julius planned to start his business, Matthews Investigative Solutions, in 2020 to create a legacy and follow his dreams of entrepreneurship. Matthews Investigative Solutions aids in process service, skip tracing, and GPS tracking.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The most difficult is gaining the trust of customers. When dealing with situations, I help them understand how things could work out in their favor and how bad things could be.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. What can you tell our readers who might need to be more familiar with what you do?
I am also the author of 2 books; Aspects of Love: Foundations of Love and Aspects of Love 2: Understanding the Other Side. When it comes to love, there’s no universal language. I aim to help people understand different perspectives of love.

What matters most to you?
What matters to me is understanding. I know that everyone is different in many ways, so I try to understand everyone. The most important thing is understanding doesn’t mean being agreeable.
