Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jhazi Black.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started during the COVID lockdown. Just looking for something to occupy my time. Little did I know I would be finding my passion. I thank my family first for allowing me to practice on them so I could work towards perfecting my craft.
I went through many phases, including doing nails out of my room. Then, I moved my work area into my grandmother’s finished basement, now in my booth! I am also finishing cosmetology school and looking to expand my skills.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
The road has been up and down, which I expected. One of my biggest challenges was finding good, consistent clientele.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
As a nail tech, what makes me stand out is my shaping techniques and my creative design.
How do you define success?
In my eyes, success is having the ability to do what you love and strive.
