Today we’d like to introduce you to James Randall Guffey Jr.
Hi James Randall; we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is James R Guffey Jr was born in raised in Blue Springs, Missouri. I perform under the name of, The Guff D.D. Dimmadome. I fell in love with this form of sports entertainment, pro wrestling, in 2nd grade. My classmate and I both had the same passion, and now we perform at the same company. I have been in this business for roughly five years. It has gone by pretty fast. There is nothing better than what I do. I mean, how many people can say they do what I do? It’s all about whether or not you have inspired someone. Was there a kid that you inspired? Did you create a moment that will last forever?
I am currently a pro wrestling manager at Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling in Raytown, Missouri. I recently took on the task of managing Premier Independent Wrestling. The Guff D.D. Dimmadome was born in Missouri, but I reside in Dallas, Texas. That means I spend more than half of my time on a plane. I became wealthy by gambling in Vegas and by being an oil tycoon. My slogan is, “I’ll make you famous!” with smoking guns. Okay, the meaning is it’s on until the bell rings. My favorite things are Da Money, Da Planes, and Da Women. I am about bringing the best talent and clientele and showcasing memorable moments. The fans need a speaker, and that’s me.
Here’s the thing Some of my greatest moments have been managing J Savage in K.C.X.W. The match I remember the most was a casket match. It was between Juno Ranger, with Hypeman Pinky. It was so intense the crowd threw me in, and Pinky would exchange blows toward the back. The ordeal started with them stealing my entire attire for a battle royale. I looked for my attire backstage until the staff told me who the culprits were. The funniest part was when I said to both of them, “I’ll Make Them Famous.” Juno Ranger was throwing a tantrum; then Hypeman shouted, “We’re already famous!” When K.C.X.W instructed J Savage not to drop the mic. We were with Mr. KC, and guess what? He drops the mic. There were probably 200 people at the Ararat. We got the crowd so involved in Hard Luck Hal Roger’s match against J Savage. They were screaming, “Hard Luck sucks!” as I pointed from side to side. After the show, Derek Stone told me good job backstage. That was the proudest moment in my career.
When I was growing up, there were times when people used to tear me down. You were always not big enough, talk funny, or incapable of making it a reality. There were times when I used to cry off the bus because I wasn’t accepted. I used to say, why can’t people accept one another for who they are? I was taught at a young age it can always be worst. We lived in such a cruel, unpleasant, and uncaring world. As humanity, we attend to label people. We need to stop. It breaks individuals apart; we need to be accepted in love with each other. It’s okay to have a disability if people can’t get their loss. It doesn’t matter if you are disabled, blinded, dead, or have a speech impairment. You can still make your dreams come true, you might half to work harder, but it’s possible. That keeps me pushing for my dream. A lot is watching pro wrestling growing up. I also want to inspire people, can do both.
You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
Well, life is never easy. It wasn’t designed that way. It balances itself out. Let’s say, for instance, you are paying your bills but still traveling. At the same time, all this is going you still half to practice your trait. That was the most challenging obstacle.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work at the Blue Spring Walmart supercenter in Blue Springs, MO. My.job title is new associate cap 2, meat in produce. Then my profession is a professional wrestling manager for Kansas City Extreme Wrestling League, a Premiere Independent Wrestling in Kansas; I am known as the cowboy with a glamour suit and rodeo hat. Most proud of being able to live a childhood dream and work full-time at the same time.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan on being an advocate for people with disabilities. Besides that go on tour, perform for bigger wrestling leagues, and be a huge influence in my community. It could be mentioned in my high and middle school display case.
