Daily Inspiration: Meet HARRY

Today we’d like to introduce you to HARRY.

Hi HARRY, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started writing music at a young age. I had a whole notebook full of raps that I wrote in until I ran out of paper. Writing lyrics has always been something I enjoy. Music has always been an escape for me and has allowed me to express myself how I want. There are no rules to song making and that alone keeps me coming back every time. I’m a perfectionist when it comes to things I enjoy. I continue to learn and get better. I feel as if I’m making the best music that I’ve ever made right now. This is a testament of what consistency brings, and the long hours put in when they seem pointless at the time. I will continue to grow as an artist and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. Everything is trial and error. No one road is the same and it takes time to develop and learn what works and what doesn’t in music. I struggled finding identity in music when I started writing full songs. It took me a couple years to form my sound. I think a big part of me figuring that out was learning about myself and not limiting myself when making songs. Life also does not stop so figuring out how to manage my time was also tricky earlier on. Keeping a weekly schedule has been important for me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I write and record music. I would describe it as alternative rap. I work primarily with producer Ashton Bell. What sets my sound apart are the clever and honest lyrics. I use a lot of wordplay. I make sure that every song does not sound like the last. Most people describe my sound as smooth. I am most proud of my current EP ‘No Rest 4 the Stressed’ produced by Ashton Bell out on all platforms.

What matters most to you?
I think finding happiness and purpose is what drives me every day. I live in the moment because anything can change in a second.
