Today we’d like to introduce you to Francoise Webb.
Hi Francoise, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Francoise Webb, owner of Fancy Skin Esthetics.
My passion for all things spa and salon related started over 20 years ago when I received my nail tech license. After doing that for quite some time, I took a break from that to focus on my 3 beautiful children as a single mother until 11 years ago when I met my now husband, and we both knew I was longing to go back to what I loved.
I received my Esthetics license along with my CIDESCO certification and worked with a franchise spa company for over 5 years, getting experience and more knowledge working with Dermalogica products,
resulting in becoming a Dermalogica Expert!
My goal was to always eventually branch out to be my own boss so that I could continue helping people with all of their skincare needs with also adding my own personal touch to really make them feel special, so I just made the leap after almost 6 years and I am so glad that I did!
The name Fancy Skin Esthetics comes from my one of husband’s cousin, who always called me Fancy due to my name, and she would always say, “You just look Fancy!”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has not been an easy one, but it has been all worth it. One of the things that I struggle with the most, is the advertising/media. There is a lot of that and editing that you have to do in order to get your business out there. I am grateful that I have children who are willing to help me out and do all the editing with my social media to really get my business noticed.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Being an esthetician, of course I specialize in skincare and the needs that your skin desires as well as giving you a good homecare routine that suites your style.
What I am really proud of is the connection I make with my clients, Not only do they get quality service, but my spa is their safe space. Whether they want to vent, cry, gossip or whatever, I give them the space to do so with no judgment.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Take ANY extra education you can. In school, you just really learn the basics and you start to learn even more once you’re actually working in a spa. Skincare is always changing, so take the extra courses, learn more things, and never stay stagnant!
