Daily Inspiration: Meet Emily Brewer & Elizabeth Kennedy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Brewer & Elizabeth Kennedy. Them and their team share their story with us below:

We (twin sisters – Emily & Elizabeth) started our apparel brand, localE six years ago. Emily worked for a fashion brand as a copywriter and Elizabeth has a bachelor’s degree in apparel marketing so we put those two things together and decided to start an apparel business. We started out making cute sequin apparel to wear to games/sporting events and have evolved from that idea and expanded into other cities/markets. We now do custom wholesale orders for stores/boutiques across the country as well as locally and sell directly from our website. We do sequin letters, beaded letters and also have a line of fun graphic prints!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It certainly hasn’t been smooth but it’s definitely been fun! It’s a challenge starting your own business and when you start something new with no roadmap or directions, there are bound to be struggles. At first, it was a struggle to get our name out there. Then we had to figure out how to advertise/market our product. These are all challenges we faced and being a new business had to figure it out on our own.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are an apparel brand known for our fun sequin apparel. We design fun, unique sequin and other appliqué designs to wear to sporting events and to rep your city!

Any big plans?
We continue to expand our apparel into new markets/cities! Our goal is to continue to grow and expand into other markets.
