Hi Dori, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I’m Dori Bell, aromatherapist (with The Blossom Bar™) and digital marketing expert (with Blossom Creative LLC) on a mission to help people step into their roles as powerful creators of their own lives and stories. Like many entrepreneurs, my story begins with entering the corporate world and realizing I didn’t fit that mold. I started my own digital marketing business in 2017 after being laid off. I continued part-time with my aromatherapy practice (a side hustle I’d had since 2000 to keep me sane while slowly dying in a cubicle). For many years I was a single mom in New Jersey (I recently relocated from New Jersey to Kansas), feeling like I never had enough time to be the mother I wanted to be and make the money I wanted to make. Having my businesses has brought me more freedom with how I spend my time and energy and allowed me to be more present with my daughter. Yes, entrepreneurship comes with challenges and stressors, but freedom outweighs all. I began my study of aromatherapy in 2000, which quickly became the catalyst for reawakening my creative spirit and bringing me back to life. This awakening led me to start The Blossom Bar, which continues to feed and nurture me, mind, body, and spirit. I specialize in bringing the well-being found in aromatherapy into my clients’ branding and website design processes. It’s a unique approach that allows my clients a deeper connection to their creative process and brings clarity and calms into what can be an overwhelming project for many.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Aromatherapy helps me stay grounded, focused, and healthy in mind, body, and spirit – all things we need as entrepreneurs, no matter our business! So much falls on our shoulders as entrepreneurs: business development, sales, the actual work we do, networking, marketing, accounting, billing, self-pep talks, and the list goes on and on. Owning your own business is stressful, scary, anxiety-provoking, and overwhelming. It’s also an empowering, exciting celebration of the best parts of ourselves. I meet the struggles and the good times with the mindset that we need both to grow and be at our best. If I could pass along one secret to other entrepreneurs, tapping into your innate creativity would be important. Aromatherapy offers a beautifully fragrant and gently powerful means of unleashing your creative spirit, and I employ it in my digital marketing business every day. To stand out in today’s noisy market, distinctively presenting your business is crucial. Aromatherapy supports centering and grounding yourself and seeing your business through your unique lens. My unique approach to aromatherapy involves using essential oils, flower essences, and explorations into your innate creativity to help you uncover your deep wisdom and awaken your creative spirit. My goal is for our work together to act as a catalyst in your life, helping you gain confidence in managing your preventative health. With aromatherapy, entrepreneurs and anyone in the workforce can see wonderful benefits to their focus, peace of mind, creativity, and ability to manage their emotions and thoughts. I offer seminars, workshops, private sessions, and pre-made products through my website to support your journey.

I enjoy working with life & health coaches, mentors, mastermind organizers, entrepreneurs with membership packages, and other business owners whose passion is serving and supporting others’ transformations. I help them get visibility and make sales with powerful websites. I also provide aromatherapy gifts for their teams and clients that have the power to transform the way they show up in their lives. Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The pandemic uncovered another previously silent pandemic – anxiety. A certain level of anxiety helps us stay alert and aware, but too much over too long can make anxiety completely debilitating. Long term, it weakens our immune systems and leaves us vulnerable. It damages us, our relationships, and our ability to be who we want to be. We can’t show up in our lives or in anyone else’s in the way we want to when we are weakened in mind, body, and spirit by anxiety. Aromatherapy offers wonderful, natural support for regaining internal calm in our central nervous systems. I learned firsthand and through working with many clients how effective essential oils and flower essences can be for dispelling anxiety and anxious, reoccurring thoughts.
