Daily Inspiration: Meet Curtis Lee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Curtis Lee. They and their team shared their story with us below:

His stage name is Kurtizent. Friends and family know him as Curtis, born in Kansas City, Missouri. He started in the music business working with Musicnotch.com based out of Philadelphia, PA. He ran the Twitter accounts for Kustom Promos and also Musicnotch in 2012. While working with Musicnotch, he began working concurrently as media coordinator for ThaTraphouse Battle League, also out of Philadelphia. In this role, he set up shows, edited videos, scouted venues, recruited future battle artists, found radio shows to broadcast battles, and helped ThaTraphouse get signed by the world-renowned battle league Smack/URL/TV. He has also branched off into radio with his underground radio station, Bhindthescen Radio, on Sunday nights at 9 pm est. 8 pm CST—the Grand Rising Morning show on weekday mornings at 9 am est. Soon to be a 24/4 365 broadcast which has featured HighStandards Radio Battle League, Elissa Gabrielle, Rizza Islam, Jay Griffy, DJ Rampage, Richie Evans, Wazeer The Great, Trapmankane, Max Groove, and many other underground artists. Last but not least, he is an R&B artist and music producer himself. You can find his music on all music streaming platforms. He was also a part of Coast2Coast Mixtapes and is a producer on the track “Faded” on Music’s Most Wanted Volume 2 (DJ Khasper Bhinks), which has over 500,000 downloads and views, and his music has also been placed in movies such as WELCOME 2 KILLA CITY part 2 feat. Freeway, Eness, Mon, e.g., and Glenn Plummer (OG Bobby Johnson) on YouTube with over 500,000 views. It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Homelessness and keeping jobs to keep the radio station going have been the toughest.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As CEO of BhindTheScen Radio, our main objective is to give underground artists a platform to be heard and inform our listeners on what is happening in the matrix. As a music producer, I’m still trying to create my vibe separate from radio or even just a name for myself in the music field. Some of my music can be found on music platforms.

What’s next?
Expanding our radio station to a 24/7 365 days year broadcast and building the Bhindthescen Studios with all 10 shows and ideas airing on the Bhindthescen network, also adding HowYouLivin Radio to the menu for the listeners very soon and branching off into YouTube with live broadcasting and visuals.
