Today we’d like to introduce you to Charity Moua
Hi Charity, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hello! My name is Charity Moua! I am super excited to share my story with you!
I am a model within the KC metro area! For a couple of years now, I have been going in and out of modeling and recently this year, I began doing more and more modeling opportunities!
When I was in the fourth grade, I participated in a talent showcase called the ARTS, or Applause International with Kim Myers. This showcase had workshops through out the year, to help coach and prep the participants to do a big showcase in Florida! I was participating in both singing and commercial monologue! Yes, I am not only just a model but a little performer and actress too! Once I got to Florida, I also did the modeling aspect of it as well!
After the showcase was done, we had meetings with directors, or casting agents called callbacks! I had gotten a call back fromNew York but because we didn’t have the financials to travel to and from New York, they recommended us to local agencies within KC! I was then a part of Hoffman’s International Model & Talent Agency! There I learned about the different etiquettes about being a model!
As I went into middle school and high school, I decided to stop all modeling activity and continued to focus on school.
I recently just got back into modeling this year and it has been an amazing journey! I have grown so much and have had so many opportunities that I thought I’d never would have had!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been on the smoother side! I am currently pursuing modeling on the side but I am a full time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing!
For modeling, it has been a little challenging to find more paid opportunities because I am a freelancing model! I do plan to join a modeling agency in the future!
Some obstacles I will say that I’ve faced is handling so many things at once. I am a person who likes to be busy and there is so much I want to do in such a short span of time. I have been learning that I can’t always take on everything and need to find the correct balance within life. I always remind myself not to do EVERYTHING alone. I have also learned to be more patient and learned to not waste the waiting.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am currently a full-time student pursuing a bachelors degree in Marketing!
I plan to take that degree and work at a marketing firm where I want to become a marketing manager that works within social media, analytics, public relations, and advertising!
During the pandemic I was a junior in high school and that was when my passion for marketing had grew! I learned a lot of skills from tiktok and google and started creating content on my social media platforms!
When I first started creating content, it was mostly related to products and then I started doing more content on my lifestyle, fashion, and modeling! As social media was growing, I was growing!
Once I went to college, I started doing more modeling opportunities! I really got into the modeling community where I was in two previous fashion shows; Kansas City Fashion Week, & Heartland International Fashion Week! I was even able to host my own fashion show at my community college I was at! I was able to help coach many of the models from my showcase and it has helped me grow my leadership skills!
Overall, I am super proud of how much I have accomplished!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe that luck doesn’t play in a part of my life, because for me, trusting and knowing that God is in control of my life is all that I need. I know God has a plan for me and since I’ve let him lead the way, then more and more doors have opened for me.
