Daily Inspiration: Meet Carrie Soppe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Soppe.

Carrie Soppe

Hi Carrie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been in the Kansas City area for the past three years and loving it! I’m a hairstylist of nearly 19 years and a Reiki Master for 4. My work has always been about more than hair—I love to help women feel like their most favorite version of themselves. That means thoughtful cuts and color that work with your lifestyle and features, not just trends.

I also gently weave Reiki energy into my services. With so much stress in the world, I believe even small moments of care can make a real difference. My goal is to help you look great & feel supported.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Moving to Kansas City was incredibly exciting, and I’ve truly loved becoming part of this community. The biggest challenge has been starting over in a people-centered business in a place where I didn’t know anyone. That kind of reset can feel very vulnerable.

At the same time, I’ve been met with so much openness and kindness. I’ve connected with amazing locals and fellow transplants, and those relationships have made all the difference. KC has a way of welcoming you in, and I’m deeply grateful for that. It feels like home, and I’m very happy to be planting roots here for a long while.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in customized cuts and color designed around each client’s bone structure, features, skin tone, lifestyle, and hair health.. I also weave Reiki energy into my services, creating an experience that supports both outer beauty and inner balance.

My work is about helping women feel comfortable, confident, and truly themselves. The relationships I build are what sets me apart. This is intimate work and I’m so grateful to be allowed in to everyone’s life.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I’ve learned that growth requires showing up before you feel fully ready. It’s scary but you have to put yourself out there, introduce yourself, step outside your comfort zone, and allow yourself to be seen. When you do, the right connections follow—and that’s where everything begins.
