Daily Inspiration: Meet Brennan Elliott

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brennan Elliott. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Brennan and her mother, Robin, opened As You Wish Event Planning in 2016 as a mother/daughter duo. We started As You Wish Event Planning after witnessing multiple weddings where the “Mother of the Bride” was running around trying to do everything from setting up/cleaning décor to making sure all of the vendors arrived on time to making sure the bride had everything she needed. By the end of the night, the mom had not even enjoyed the wedding. That was when we realized that mothers, bridal party, and couples themselves should not have to work their wedding, they are there to enjoy the day. 

That was when we started offering Day of Coordination, which then quickly grew into All-Inclusive Planning when we realized that brides are stressed out enough and can use a little guidance when it comes planning their big day. After planning over 250 weddings, we now offer Day of Coordination and All-Inclusive Planning not only in our hometown of Kansas City but all over the world. 

7 years later, we now specialize in destination weddings, elopements, and LGBTQ+ weddings 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning any small business has its challenges but my job can be extremely challenging! You have to remember that my clients are stressed out and nervous…this is the biggest day of their lives we are talking about. And everyone handles stress differently. Luckily, I wear many hats, Wedding Planner, Therapist, Etc. I’ve become very good at de-stressing situations, calming my clients down, and making sure there are stress-free and enjoying their event.

Hi, my name is Brennan Elliott. I am the Owner, Designer, and Principal Planner at As You Wish Event Planning. We are proudly based in Kansas City and specialize in destination weddings, elopements, and LGBTQ+ couples. We celebrate all love and make it a point to make sure all of our couples feel comfortable, stress-free, and protected from all discrimination. 

What sets us apart from others? That’s easy, we go above and beyond on the wedding day to make sure the couple, their wedding party, and families have everything they could possibly need to enjoy the day. 

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is the day my baby brother was born. My family means everything to me, I am extremely close to my parents and brother and was ecstatic that they got me “a real-life baby doll” to play with!
