Today we’d like to introduce you to Anahi Sepulveda.
Anahi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always had a passion for expressing my creativity. From a young age, I watched my mom bake beautiful, delicious cakes, and I was fascinated by the artistic side of decorating them. I loved watching Cake Boss and other baking shows, and I would find any excuse to make cupcakes or cakes for family celebrations. They definitely weren’t perfect, but creating them brought me so much joy.
As I got older, my sister encouraged me to take cake decorating more seriously and suggested I give it a try. After making my first decorated cake, I was hooked. I immersed myself in learning new techniques and challenging myself with every project. With each cake, I gained more skill, confidence, and creativity. The process has pushed me far outside my comfort zone at times, but it’s always been incredibly rewarding and has strengthened my passion for baking and cake decorating.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been times when I’ve questioned myself and wondered if I should give up, especially when I found myself comparing my work to other bakers. Over time, though, I’ve learned to give myself grace and remember that every baker starts somewhere.
A big part of the journey has been perfecting my recipes and finding the balance between recognizing my current limitations and pushing myself outside my comfort zone. Every mistake has taught me something valuable, and each challenge has helped me grow both as a baker and as a person. Looking back, I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m excited to keep learning and improving every day.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a big believer in giving back, and I spend a lot of my free time volunteering and helping others, especially through my church. There are times when I don’t always know the best way to support someone who’s going through a difficult season, but one thing I can do is bake. Sometimes I’ll make cookies, cupcakes, or a dessert for them, and it’s amazing how something so simple can brighten someone’s day.
Baking has become more than just a creative outlet for me—it’s a way to show kindness, bring people together, and let others know they’re cared for. I love knowing that something I’ve made can bring comfort, joy, or even just a smile to someone’s face.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Without a doubt, my biggest supporters are my husband and my sister. My husband has always believed in me, even during the moments when I didn’t believe in myself. He encourages me to step outside my comfort zone, celebrates every milestone—big or small—and constantly reminds me of what I’m capable of. His confidence in me has given me the courage to keep pursuing my passion.
My sister has also played such an important role in my journey. I honestly don’t think I would have started this if it weren’t for her. She gave me my very first cake order and has believed in me from the very beginning. Having people who support and encourage me has made all the difference.
I’m incredibly grateful to have such a strong support system, and I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
