Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexx Medusa.
Hi Alexx, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I grew up with many talents. And after so long of practicing each and every one of them, I felt lost. I wasn’t sure where I stood or what I for sure wanted to do with my life. I was an acrobat and dancer for the first 10 years of my life. Unfortunately, that came to an end when my parents got too bad off on drugs and couldn’t afford for me to go anymore. Not long after, I started singing in the school choir. And I loved that, I did it for 4 years. Until that came to an end to for the same reasons. After that, I started teaching myself to hula hoop dance and took that serious for a year until I got bored. And then around April of 2021… a friend of mine messaged me asking me to model for her, as she had just took on photography. After doing my first shoot with her, I knew immediately that that’s what I wanted to do. And ever since, I’ve been networking and connecting with photographers all over Kansas City. I’ve now been modeling for over a year now, and have created so many amazing experiences for myself. It’s taken a lot of loss & confusion & pain to get where I am today, and I’m finally so so happy with the path I’m taking.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s not been easy! With modeling, can come insecurity. When I started out, I would stare at the photos I got back just wishing I looked better. I wasn’t happy with myself. And honestly, all it took was time & actually WANTING to feel better about myself. So, I kept it pushing, and with every photoshoot, I got more comfortable and confident with myself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
The content that I create with photographers, ranges to a lot of things. I’m a boudoir, editorial, and fashion model.
My work recently has centered around boudoir & I have a very strong love and respect for the art of the human body.
Aside from my boudoir work, everything else is editorial and fashion, which is where a lot of my creativity comes into play.
So far in my modeling career, I’ve already gotten the experience of shooting with a beautiful, friendly, nice 12-ft snake. I’ve got to shoot with other models and creatives ALL over Kansas City. I even got to shoot on someone’s insane Lamborghini!!! Haha, I’m so grateful for the experiences I’ve gotten.
