Today we’d like to introduce you to Strange Poet

Hi Strange , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was raised on R&B, Brian McKnight, Teddy Pendergrass, Stevie Wonder, Avant, etc and I was always liked how the music was structured and the words were nuanced. I started writing down my favorite songs to see what it was like, that turned me to writing my own poems which turned me to writing them to beats and so on and now here we are.
I remember writing down the words to every rap in 8 mile to understand “Bars” and punchlines.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The creation of music is the easiest part of this journey. The only struggles I’ve come across is marketing. If you aren’t willing to put A LOT of money into this dream… wake up.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I don’t have many skills, I’m good with my words, and open with my thoughts.
My time as a line cook has helped me not burn and over-season my food at home though, so that’s good.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
You have to be a risk taker if you want to be successful, it’s not an option especially in entertainment.
I’ve taken a major risk with just being a rapper. There’s a major chance I don’t go anywhere, but there’s a chance I could! So ima risk it.
