Conversations with Str8 Drop Lou

Today we’d like to introduce you to Str8 Drop Lou.

Str8 Drop, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2015 or 2016 a group of friends and I were in my car doing freestyles to old YouTube beats. Which was almost a daily routine for us but it sounded so good this particular night to the point everyone encouraged me and a friend of mine at the time to take the music thing seriously. We initially refused but somehow I changed my mind and attempted to write my first song. I honestly didn’t think the song sounded good at all but I let a friend hear it. He liked the song so much he kept wanting me to rap it over and over. After that I was sold on being an artist.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been far from a smooth road. Music is probably one of the most bumpiest roads to be on. From dealing with shady musicians, janky venues and “showcases”.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an artist, engineer and a producer in training. I specialize in being a student of music history. I’m most known for my voice and beat selection from what I’ve been told. I’m mostly proud of the fact that I’m still keeping everything rolling. A lot of artists would’ve threw in the towel a long time ago going through some of the things I’ve endured. The love I have for music sets me apart from others in my opinion. I grew up in a very musically inclined family so music and I’s love story started pretty early.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Family matters to me the most due to us being so close knit.
