Conversations with Seuss Mace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Seuss Mace.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began creating and recording at the age of nine years old. My stage name originated from my love for Dr. Seuss Books because Theodore Geisel was a poet and an illustrator and I am an MC as well as an artist, I chose that name around the age of 12. My music embodies the Midwest artistically. I captivate my audience with rapid-fire delivery, thoughtful introspect, and versatility. I am a Topeka, Kansas Native with 8 solo projects and I have been signed before to Indi.com and worked with the number one independent rapper in the world Tech N9ne, I am featured on techs new album “ASIN9NE” which also features Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Lil Wayne, Russ, E-40, Snow Tha Product and more. I have opened for a plethora of notable acts and I handle my own recording, mixing/mastering, writing, merchandise and I showcase independently. I’m very proud of my journey as an independent artist. I’ve been doing this almost 20 years.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road but I’m thankful to have a road to walk. I’ve been through ups and downs and I’m still not to my final destination, God willing I will make it. I have a bunch of songs that didn’t see any success and then I have “Just Seuss” which got almost a million views between several different platforms…then more years of grinding between then and now with little to moderate success and then the number one independent rapper in the world calls and puts me on his album… highs and lows. You gotta take it how it comes in this business and in life in general.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an MC and an artist.

This is a line from one of my songs “I’m a weird dude with bad fashion I’m odd smellin’, and I come off crazy like Gallagher smashin’ watermelons” what sets me apart from other rappers is my mission statement “be yourself shamelessly” that’s what my brand is all about. No judgement, be your unique self.

I’m most proud of my commitment to the journey and my drive to succeed….my art is something I’m proud of.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?

Be yourself and the rest will come. As long as you’re honestly being yourself and putting your heart into it the people will listen, with a “lil” talent lol. That’s what I believe.
