Conversations with Sabrina Fountain

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Fountain.

Hi Sabrina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Starting back in college, I pursued basketball for 14 years consecutively and finished off my last two years at a college I attended in Iowa. After obtaining my Associate’s degree I finished out my career at the University of Central Missouri where I received my Bachelor’s in fine arts with a major in Graphic Design. That’s when my very first business was born, Bri-D Graphics.

Bri-D Graphics is a Graphic Design Agency that services the public, including established businesses and start-up businesses. We provide services from logos, flyers, banners, and websites, to business identity systems such as business cards, letterheads, social media content & banners, and more.

Before I became a Graphic Designer, I was doing music under the name Sabrina Ka$h. As a recording artist, I felt only right to do my own graphics especially to help save as much money as I could while being in college. That then turned into a business for me as the demand for artwork became big, especially in the music industry with cover arts and album covers.

In 2019 after graduating from UCM, I then had a premonition. I figured since I’m fresh out of college with my finances lower than low, I didn’t want to go broke paying other people to fulfill my dreams while chasing mine as an Independent Artist. I know I needed music videos so I decided to pick up the camera myself. Other artists saw my skills in filming and editing within my own work, so just like with my Graphic Design Agency, my production company, SK Productions, emerged off people simply liking what I produced and wanting it for themselves.

After shooting about 3 other artists’ music videos outside of myself I decided to turn it into a business. Turns out, I’ve shot way more music videos to date than I’ve put out of myself. But it became a passion, and at that point, it wasn’t about me anymore, it was about servicing the public and providing them with the quality they deserve. I always knew of the quality that I wanted, and that helped me know the quality that they NEEDED. And I was all for it.

After a few years up until now, I’ve made the decision to niche down on Event Filming. I want people’s moments to last forever. It’s such a joyful feeling being able to relive a moment forever, so that’s what I provide; an everlasting moment. I enjoy filming events from weddings, concerts, annual events, birthdays, reunions, grand openings, and more!

In conclusion, all of my services are in-house, providing anything ranging from graphic design to production services of photography & videography. I’m huge on branding and considering how quickly we’re moving into a new digital world, I want to help people, brands, and businesses prepare for it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been points in my journey where things were very smooth and I was geeked by how easily things were growing, and with the help and faith in God, I always had gratitude and gave Him all the glory for why things were going the way they were going for me.

But, I’m grateful that my faith in Him was so high because that smooth road didn’t last long. My road started to get very rough, I would say more so with people than my actual business. I’ve lost friends, I’ve had people try and use me for my talents before I knew my worth. Promising exposure that they didn’t even maintain themselves, false promises and so much more.

To this day I’m still currently in the fog of that part of my journey. Learning how to deal with and operate with people, the physiological tactics they use to operate, and just how to be more careful in my businesses. I guess it was all in preparation for the growth that was ahead of me, and God was putting me in a position for the next level.

What I’ve discovered has been mind-blowing, so I’m going to use that new knowledge from my experiences to further my business in the best way possible. I’m thankful for all the good experiences and bad experiences because they are what got me to where I am now.

I specialize in Graphic Design and Photo & Video Production.

In my graphic design agency, Bri-D Graphics, I’m known for my custom logos, website designs, cover artwork, and business stationery products such as business cards, letterheads, thank you cards, social media graphics & banners, and more.

I specialize in Event Filming and Portrait Photography in my production company, SK Productions, and I am currently jumping into content creation and being a content creator for brands and influencers.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
My favorite apps/programs that I use are those of the Adobe Suit which include Adobe Illustrator (where I create my logos).

Adobe Photoshop (where I create my cover artwork and business stationery in), Adobe Premier & After Effects (where I edit videos and other productions), Lightroom (where I edit my photography), and tons of other creative programs that you can bring things to life with.

These programs helped me tremendously with my work and I don’t know where I’d be without them today.
