Hi Nicole, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I opened my small business, Zucchero Studios, in August 2023 after moving from Jacksonville, Florida to Kansas. I had been practicing sugaring since 2018 and knew I wanted to bring this natural, skin-friendly method of hair removal to a thriving community. Starting with no clients and nothing but a deep passion for hair removal and education, I dedicated myself to teaching people about the incredible benefits of sugaring—not only as a gentle alternative to waxing, but as a way to support healthy, glowing skin. What began as a one-woman operation has grown into a space built on trust, comfort, and confidence—proving that when passion meets purpose, beautiful things happen.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Balancing the demands of running a small business while acting as a single parent has been one of my greatest challenges. With my wife working in another state and our home being 45 minutes away from the studio, every day requires careful planning, determination, and a lot of heart. Between managing my household, raising our children, and nurturing Zucchero Studios, there have been moments of exhaustion—but also immense pride. Recently, many sugaring franchises have opened nearby, but I don’t see them as competition. As long as they offer quality, well-run services, I believe we can all work together to educate and expand awareness of the incredible benefits of sugaring. There’s room for all of us to thrive when the focus remains on integrity, community, and care.

I’ve been practicing the art of sugaring since 2018, and it’s been an incredible journey watching my passion evolve into what Zucchero Studios is today. We were honored to win Best of KC 2025 for Best Hair Removal, a recognition that reflects both my dedication to the craft and the trust of my amazing clients. I’m most proud of how I’ve continued to grow within the sugaring industry while balancing motherhood and home life—a true labor of love. As an accredited educator with Guru Academy and a recent educator at the IECSC with Radeq Labs Sugaring, I’ve had the opportunity to teach and inspire others about the benefits of this gentle, effective, and natural form of hair removal. I’m known for my extensive knowledge, gender-inclusive approach, and luxury service experience—each “plus” service is completed with a soothing hydration mask and warm towel, leaving every client refreshed, confident, and cared for. Looking into the future, The SWWON Summit on September 19–20, 2026 in San Diego is shaping up to be a pivotal gathering for the sugaring and epilation community. Designed as an elevated two-day event, it brings together passionate professionals, educators, and innovators to share techniques, insights, and best practices in hair removal and skin care (especially sugaring).
