Conversations with Nicolas Pale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicolas Pale.

Hi Nicolas, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello, my name is Nicolas Pale, I am a language teacher. I was born in an indigenous village near San Cristobal de las Casas. About 7 years ago, I had the idea of teaching Spanish, English, and Tsotsil (Mayan indigenous language) and that’s how the idea of SanCris Language School was born.

From that moment, we started to offer classes, and we published several ads in hotels, hostels, and on our website. Advertising is very important in any business and that is why we have done as much advertising as possible on social networks and other places offering our services to the general public.

The Spanish Language School is located in the heart of San Cristóbal de las Casas, the cultural capital of the state of Chiapas, Mexico. Located at Dr. José Felipe Flores #73 in a lovely neighborhood called Barrio de Guadalupe.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We have had several challenges, one of them is to find well-prepared teachers who are interested in doing things well. Also today the pandemic was something that caused many clients to cancel and change their opinion.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At the SanCris Language School, we offer a personalized learning program with one-on-one or group instruction for students of all levels. As every good school knows, our biggest resources are our teachers who dedicate their time, knowledge, and hearts here at the school.

Our teachers are well trained, each with years of experience teaching Spanish, and of course, all of our teachers are local, native speakers.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
When I was living in the country. I like nature and my life there when I was young.
