Conversations with Marty Augustine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marty Augustine.

Hi Marty, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m Marty Augustine— a writer, music producer, and social media influencer with an undeniable passion for pizza.

My journey in sound started a long time ago behind the DJ decks. As a professional DJ, I spent many years spinning tracks on radio, making people dance in night clubs, and managing a thriving mobile entertainment business. My love for electronic dance music naturally led me to develop my own unique sound — one that merges classic electronic dance music elements with a fresh, creative flair. I transitioned from simply playing music to creating it.

This evolution gave rise to what I call Electronic Music, Reimagined — a signature style that mixes hypnotic rhythms with immersive melodies, crafted both for reflective listening and a high energy experience to get you moving. While I had dabbled in music production before, it was only recently that I truly reignited my creative fire getting more serious about it. I’ve released two albums so far and I’m preparing a third that will be coming soon.

Though I seemingly enjoy a quiet suburban life, my music is steadily gaining traction with listeners worldwide.

But music is only one side of my story.

I’m also an accomplished writer with a particular fondness for pizza. With four books currently published and more on the way, I like to entertain with a unique twist. My books 50 Pizza Haikus and 50 Pizza Inspired Poems are a serious and savory blend of classic poetry and pizza. Another of my books, 101 ‘Probably’ True Pizza Facts takes a humorous look at history and the world around us through the lens of pizza. As if that’s not enough, I have an online social media persona known as “Marty The Pizza Guy” where I share my love of all things pizza to thousands of followers and a blog which focuses on pizza topics and the silliness of life.

I love to entertain!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Life has brought more than my share of difficult challenges, but as cheesy as it sounds, my biggest obstacle has always been myself. More than anything, it’s been the internal battles that have been the hardest to overcome. I’ve had to learn how to quiet the persistent self-doubt and a fear of failure, I have to fight constantly to keep pushing forward — even when I feel like I don’t have it all together. Staying motivated, managing my time, and keeping focused when life pulls me in many different directions is a constant struggle.

Whether it’s writing, producing music, or just sharing something silly online means so much to me. It’s not just something I do, it’s an outlet. It’s how I find my way through all the bad stuff life throws at me. It’s a form of therapy that has allowed me to reinvent myself in a time where I very much needed it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I combine three seemingly unrelated passions—music, writing, and a passion for pizza—into one cohesive creative identity. I produce music, I write humorous and heartfelt books about pizza, and I’ve created a lighthearted online persona known as ‘Marty The Pizza Guy.’ While these things might sound totally random when put together, it’s all about storytelling and personal expression. Surprisingly, when you look at everything I do, it all somehow ties together and makes sense in a weird, but fun way.

Whether it’s through sound, words, or pizza slices, I love entertaining and connecting with people in unexpected, memorable ways. If I can make someone laugh or smile with my writing, or if I can create a mood or memory with my music, I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.

I believe the quirky, sincere approach to everything I do is what sets me apart. The fact that I have an audience who responds to it positively makes me proud because I never thought it would work or make sense.

Going forward, I’m planning on starting my own record label to manage my music, as well as other projects I’ve got in the works.

What does success mean to you?
I think success is all about being content with what you do—loving it, living it—and knowing that what you do also makes others happy along the way. It’s that sweet spot where your passion and purpose meet. Money and “stuff” are nice to have, but they can easily go away. Doing something that makes an impact on someone else can last a lifetime.
