Conversations with Marcel Thom

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcel Thom.

Hi Marcel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Fitness is a lifestyle not an occasion. My goal is to transform both your mind & body in a fast, safe, and effective manner utilizing all of the tools in my arsenal that I’ve built over 2 decades to transform your body and mind! I began my journey into the World of fitness as a 2 sport standout Junior High and High School Track & Football athlete in Arlington,Texas. I was recruited to play college football at Ottawa University in Kansas, and made the All Kansas accolade at Ottawa in 1993. After my college football stint, I enlisted in the US Air Force as a Physical Training Leader, and a Unit Fitness Program Manager. I completed 20 years, and honorably retired in 2014 with Full Military Honors, and an Air Force Commendation Medal.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The path to where I am today, and all of my successes, and accolades has been very hard. There were plenty of sleepless nights, ups and downs both professionally, and personally, and there were times when I wasn’t sure if pursuing entrepreneurship would be worth it, but I was determined to create a life and to leave a legacy for not just myself, but for my family by building the Enterprise that we now have today.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently a MIND & BODY fitness coach, based in Northern Virginia, outside of Washington, DC. I specialize in both physical fitness and I couple the physical aspect with Mindfulness coaching, as I am a licensed Mindfulness practitioner. I am most proud of making a difference in not only the physical aspect and well-being of my clients, but also building a relationship simultaneously, as not just a coach, but a confidant that they can TRUST. I differentiate myself from other fitness trainers because I focus on the whole body concept, as opposed to just focusing on the gym component. I also have the military discipline, I am a “walking billboard” by looking the part, and have appeared in the media on numerous times both locally, nationally, and internationally.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Creating Trust with my clients matters the MOST to me. You cannot build a solid, firm relationship both personally and in business (professionally) without the trust of those who invest in you.
