Conversations with Kimberly Keys

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Keys. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Kimberly L. Keys is an ARKANSAS native-born and raised. She was born in late Dec. Willie and Sis. Blanchie Keys.

Kimberly was born with the gift of song and you can sure tell she doesn’t take that gift for granted. She grew up singing in the church with her family and has been going since then.

She has opened up for a few National Recording Artists such as Lyfe Jennings, Tank, Monica, Ja Rule, Ashanti, and Jacquees. She also sings background for Michael Buble and Michael McDonald.

Kimberly found herself wanting to expand her music ventures and decided to make her move to the “SHOW ME STATE”. Kimberly Keys has definitely been a rising star here in Kansas City since leaving her roots back in Arkansas.

Kimberly is leaving her mark all over the city. With a few residencies up her sleeve, her musical vibe is sure to leave you speechless and definitely on your feet. Check out her single entitled “Someone Like You” ft Simeon Taylor and her latest single “All Good”.

Kimberly has been working with Producer Joseph “Jo Blaq” Macklin and later this month, she’s looking to release her first project. You’ll ever hardly find Kimberly NOT working. Take a musical journey along with her as she soothes your Soul.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Somewhat of a smooth road. You know there are always blocks or obstacles along the way that will TRY to stop you. I stop, pray, align and reset.

In this industry, you never know what kind of energy you run into that transfer. So it’s always good to stay humble and positive.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a recording artist/singer. I’m known for “tearing down a stage” lol, no, for real.

I’ve been grateful enough to earn residencies around the city at a couple of restaurants and bars. So that’s been a major plus. I’m known for my soulful sound and vibe. I’m MOST proud of how far I’ve come in a short amount of time.

What sets me apart from others is that I sing and perform and can rock ANY crowd or stage I step on. Not cocky or arrogant but I know what I have and how to use it.

What do you think about happiness?
Being on a stage. When a mic is in my hand, it’s like everything about life is floating away. I love the gift that God has given me…

My family brings about the majority of my happiness. To see their smiles when I’m in my element brings so much joy. Knowing I can smooth minds and soothes hearts.
