Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Fisher.
Jessica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Photography came into my life in a way I never expected. In August of 2018, I started modeling. One of the photographers I worked with let me edit my own photos, and that was the moment everything changed for me. I instantly fell in love with the editing process. Seeing how much emotion and beauty you could bring out in a single image made me realize I had found something I was truly passionate about.
In January of 2020, I started Unicorn Moments Photography. While I enjoyed modeling, I realized my heart was behind the camera and in front of my computer bringing each image to life. Photography gives me the chance to capture moments that people will treasure for years, but editing is where I really get to tell each person’s story and create something unique for them.
To me, photography is about so much more than taking pictures. It is about preserving memories, celebrating people, and creating images that make someone smile every time they look at them. Knowing that I get to give people something they can cherish forever is what makes me love what I do.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. Around 2023, photoshoots started to slow down, and I decided to focus on other areas of my life for a while. Although I wasn’t photographing as much during that time, my passion for photography never went away.
In 2025, I decided it was time to fully invest in it again. Coming back reminded me why I started in the first place. Building a business takes time, patience, and consistency, and I’ve learned that it’s okay if the journey isn’t always a straight line. Every challenge has helped me grow, both as a photographer and as a business owner, and I truly appreciate where I am today because of it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in maternity, portraits, and senior sessions, although I also love photographing couples and getting creative with unique concepts. Every session is different, and I enjoy working with my clients to create images that feel personal and reflect who they are.
What I’m most proud of is being able to create an experience where people feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Some of my favorite moments are when a client sees their gallery for the first time and realizes just how beautiful they are.
I think what sets me apart is my editing style and the relationships I build with my clients. Editing is what first made me fall in love with photography, and it’s still my favorite part of the process. I put a lot of care into every image to make sure it feels polished while still looking natural. My goal is always to create timeless photos that my clients will love for years to come.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to stay true to my own style and not compare my journey to anyone else’s. It’s easy to look at other photographers and wonder if you’re doing enough, but I’ve learned that every business grows at its own pace.
I’ve also learned that the connection you build with your clients is just as important as the photos themselves. When people feel comfortable, valued, and can trust you, it shows in every image. At the end of the day, photography is about people and the memories you’re helping them preserve, and that’s something I’ll never take for granted.
