Conversations with Jeremy Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Taylor.

Hi Jeremy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I got into health and wellness after a 5.5-year prison bid. While in prison the only thing I could control was my discipline when it come to working out. It also help me gain a sense of fulfillment just because I knew I was doing something good for myself for once. Getting out of that situation I went to school for personal training and dedicated myself to getting better at that. I always coach my clients on being conscious of what they eat, but it’s so much deeper than just food to me. It’s how you treat yourself and how you view yourself. Becoming a trainer has helped me find a purpose. I help people with lifestyle habits because it’s the small things that count when you’re feeling down and out, or just unhappy in general. To get to a level of having a positive outlook no matter what situation you’re in is difficult but for me it’s appreciation that nudges you over that hump. Having an open mind and even though it sounds corny but a “Can Do” attitude is really the answer to that trick question. Thanks for listening I truly appreciate it.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No definitely not a smooth road at all, but there were and still are a lot of lessons to learn. The struggles for me were really myself. Once I understood that the world doesn’t adapt to me but I have to adapt to it I stopped being so bothered by no being eligible because of my background, or hearing no because of me checking a box in an application. I just decided to LLC my personal training service and do it myself.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a personal trainer, fitness and nutrition coach. I’m most proud of being able to help people reach their goals thru exercise but mostly habits. I think what sets me apart is my coaching. Setting realistic goals with my clients. Helping them understand that exercise isn’t just for physical appearance, but also mental and existential health as well. I work with clients for months just working on the most basic habit changes until they’ve fully conformed before moving on to the next. I believe fitness is for a healthier life and the physical rewards come later.

What makes you happy?
Helping my clients lose weight, gain flexibility, confidence muscle all while not putting them on a non-manageable diet. Helping clients with the information and coaching they need to find what works best for them is always a good feeling.
