Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Groves.
Hi Jenna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story began with a dream, a little creativity, and a whole lot of heart. I have always been someone who believes in the magic of bringing people together and turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. For me, there is something special about the little details, the unexpected touches, and the feeling you get when a room full of people is celebrating something beautiful.
That dream eventually became Perfectly Paired Planner LLC, and what started as a passion has grown into so much more than I ever imagined. From planning weddings and creating magical celebrations to organizing pop-up markets that bring small businesses and communities together, I have built a business around the things I love most: people, connection, creativity, and a little bit of whimsy.
Of course, the journey has not always been a fairytale. There have been plot twists, unexpected detours, lessons that came with a few tears, and moments when I had to remind myself why I started. Entrepreneurship has taught me that sometimes the most beautiful things grow from the hardest seasons. I have learned to trust myself, take chances, set boundaries, and keep going even when the story does not unfold exactly as planned.
Today, I wear a lot of hats, juggle a million little details, and am constantly dreaming up the next big thing. But at the heart of it all, I am still the girl who wants to make people feel special, create a little magic, and leave things more beautiful than she found them.
I believe life is too short for ordinary, that kindness matters, that dreams are worth chasing, and that there is always room for a little sparkle. I may not have the entire storybook written just yet, but I am proud of the chapters behind me and excited for the ones still waiting to be written. After all, the best stories are the ones that keep unfolding.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not! If my journey were a fairytale, there would have been a few dragons, some unexpected plot twists, and plenty of chapters I never saw coming. Building a business has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done, but it has also tested me in ways I never expected.
One of my biggest struggles has been learning how to balance being the person who wants to help everyone with being the person who also needs to take care of herself. When you pour so much of your heart into your business, your clients, your team, and the people around you, it can be easy to lose pieces of yourself along the way. I have had to learn some hard lessons about boundaries, trusting people, and understanding that I cannot do everything for everyone.
There have also been the financial pressures, the long hours, the unexpected challenges, and the moments when I have had to figure things out as I go. Entrepreneurship can be incredibly lonely because people see the pretty pictures, the beautiful weddings, and the finished product, but they do not always see the behind-the-scenes chaos it takes to make the magic happen.
But I think some of my biggest growth has come from those difficult seasons. I have learned that resilience does not always look like being strong and fearless. Sometimes it looks like crying, taking a breath, getting back up, and trying again the next day.
I am still learning, still growing, and still figuring things out. I certainly do not have a perfectly written storybook ending, but I have learned that the messy chapters are often the ones that shape us the most. And if there is one thing I know, it is that I am not done dreaming yet.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m the owner and lead planner of Perfectly Paired Planner LLC, where we specialize in wedding planning and coordination, creating celebrations that feel like they belong in a storybook. From day-of coordination to full-service planning, we help couples turn their ideas, Pinterest boards, and sometimes wonderfully chaotic visions into a celebration that feels authentically them. We handle the details, the logistics, setup, takedown, and venue resets because the magic should not stop at making everything look beautiful!
One of the things I love most about what we do is our team. Behind every beautiful wedding is a group of people working together, often behind the scenes, to bring all the little details to life. I’m incredibly proud of the team we are building and the people who show up, problem-solve, and work hard to make each celebration special. Wedding days can be wonderfully unpredictable, and having a team that can adapt, think on its feet, and keep everything moving is priceless. It truly takes a village to create a little magic!
I would say we’re known for being resourceful, detail-oriented, and willing to go above and beyond to make things happen. We care just as much about the logistics behind the scenes as we do about the beautiful details our couples and their guests see. Pretty is wonderful, but a beautiful event that runs smoothly? That is the real magic!
What sets us apart is that we understand weddings are not one-size-fits-all. Every couple has a different story, vision, and set of priorities, and we believe their celebration should reflect that. We work hard to create an experience where couples feel heard, supported, and genuinely cared for. Our planning packages include travel fees, along with hands-on setup, takedown, and venue reset services, so our couples can spend less time worrying about logistics and more time soaking in every moment.
What I’m most proud of is how much I have built from a dream and a willingness to figure things out along the way. Growing a business has challenged me, stretched me, and taught me more about myself than I ever expected. I’m proud of the couples who have trusted us with some of the most meaningful days of their lives, the team that helps bring those days together, and the opportunity to turn something I love into a career.
Ultimately, we don’t just want to plan pretty weddings. We want to create experiences people remember long after the last song plays. I want our couples to look back and remember how loved, celebrated, and present they felt, rather than how stressed they were. I believe there is room for a little more wonder in the world, and I feel incredibly lucky that my team and I get to make that part of our everyday work. After all, the best kind of magic is the kind you create together!
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
My view on risk-taking has changed a lot over the years. I used to think taking a risk meant making a big, bold decision and hoping everything worked out. Now, I think it is more about being willing to embrace the unknown, trusting your instincts, and accepting that not every decision will come with a guarantee.
I have learned that sometimes the hardest risks are the personal ones. It can be scary to speak up, stand firm in your decisions, or choose a different path when people around you may not understand it. There is a certain comfort in doing what is expected of you, but I believe growth happens when you are willing to question whether what is expected is actually what you want.
I am a firm believer that you cannot let the fear of getting something wrong keep you from trying something new. Not every decision will be the right one, and not every opportunity will turn out the way you imagined. But I would rather learn from an experience than spend my life wondering what could have been.
That does not mean I jump into every opportunity without thinking. I weigh the potential consequences, consider what I am willing to lose, and try to make decisions that align with my values. To me, courage is not the absence of fear; it is being able to move forward even when you feel uncertain.
I also think it is important to recognize when a risk is no longer worth taking. Changing direction is not failure, and walking away does not always mean giving up. Sometimes it means you have learned enough to know that your energy belongs somewhere else.
At the end of the day, I think the greatest risk is building a life around fear instead of possibility. We only get one chance to live our own story, and I want mine to be filled with experiences, lessons, and a few unexpected plot twists along the way. I may not always know what the next chapter holds, but I would rather turn the page than stay stuck rereading the same one.
