Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Spinetti and Andie Dyck. Them and their team share their story with us below:
It all started with sisters… Andie married Jamie’s brother in 2018 and their fierce friendship started to bloom. Fast forward to the middle of October 2021, Andie asked Jamie if she wanted to start a business together making and selling clay earrings. Just like magic, our business was born.
Jamie went on a long vacation in October, so FaceTime brainstorming sessions were incredibly helpful! We each contributed financially to be equal partners in getting the tools and materials we needed to bring our business to life. Our business name is a combination of our last names: Dy for Dyck and netti for Spinetti to create Dynetti Jewelry Co.
We decided we needed to build our website and add product photos to represent our brand. Andie already runs a photography business, so she had our first photoshoot details all figured out. On November 11, 2021, we officially launched our website! We collaborate on all of our designs, colors, and prices. All of our jewelry is handcrafted by us; from the clay to the posts, jump rings, and charms, we put it all together to create beautiful and unique pieces to complement any wearer.
We offer new one-of-a-kind styles, available every week, and showcase them on our Instagram LIVE on Wednesdays. We love to participate in vendor events to share our passion for our jewelry with the community. We have an incredibly supportive family, some of whom have donated money and time to our business.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Andie lives in Kansas City, MO and Jamie live in Wichita, KS, so it presents a little bit of a challenge for us. All of our orders are either picked up in or shipped from Kansas City, so Jamie travels to KC a few times a month to deliver products she’s created. We utilize FaceTime often.
We also have very different styles. We don’t always agree on the ideas we have for designs, but we always find a way to work together so we are both satisfied with the result. Some of our models didn’t show up to our photoshoot as planned. Despite this, we feel our shoot was very successful with the models that did show up.
Andie has 4 kids at home, and a couple of other business to run, so it’s a little tricky to balance time between them. Jamie also drives for Uber, so she can’t spend all of her time-making jewelry; which is what she wants to do.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We specialize in handcrafted polymer clay earrings. We are known for our unique and classy styles. We are most proud of the fact that we’ve had so much success in a short amount of time.
We are such good friends that we work together really well. We haven’t had any unresolvable issues running this business as partners. That’s something we are also proud of. We feel like because we create all of our products ourselves, that sets us apart from others.
We choose our color schemes, roll out the clay, design our cutters to shape the clay, add marbling, paint by hand, foil, or 3D effects, we bake, sand, drill holes, add jump rings, glue on posts, add charms, and we package them on cards we also designed. Something else that sets us apart is that we are sisters, so our business is female and family-owned.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We offer custom styles and have collaborated with several clients to create the perfect jewelry for them. Feel free to email us with your ideas. We always appreciate invitations to vendor events. We’ve donated jewelry to every event we have participated in.
Word of mouth marketing has been the most successful way to advertise our business so far. You can find us on the following social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. We are looking to work with some brick-and-mortar boutiques in the area soon.
You can support us by visiting our website, purchasing products, donating, sharing us with your friends, and leaving us a review.
