Conversations with Holly Bruner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Bruner.

Hi Holly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I have been into All Things Beauty related ever since I could remember, from cutting my hair as a child to my Barbies, Bratz, etc. I was diagnosed with cancer at 11 and lost all of my hair, eyebrows, and lashes. So, I became even more interested in makeup to make myself feel beautiful again. It definitely stuck with me. and I grew a passion for helping other women feel beautiful. I started doing friends’ makeup as they would always ask me to. I realized I wanted to do more, so after high school, I pursued my esthetician’s license, where I branched off on my own with my business, Hollys Beauty Lounge! I offer beauty, including makeup, eyelash extensions, facials, brow tinting, full body waxing, lash lifts, brow laminations, etc. I’m very blessed. I knew this was my calling because it doesn’t feel like I was “working.” After all, I am doing what I love; it’s my passion!

Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
It’s been a pretty smooth road for me; after graduating from esthetics school, I worked a 9-5 and my business part-time. I worked 10-14 hours daily until I gained enough faith to quit my 9-5 and chase my dreams! The best decision I ever made for myself.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in eyelash extensions and brow tinting; The brow queen of KC, as I’ve been told. I consider what my clients request and want, and as long as they are happy, I am, too.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I wasn’t the typical little girl. I have brothers, so I was a tomboy but always had an interest in doing beautiful things.
