Conversations with Danyell Brown Victoria Weddle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danyell Brown Victoria Weddle.

Hi Danyell Brown, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Modern Arc Wellness started with a long friendship and a lot of conversations between the two of us. We met over ten years ago while studying psychology at Northwest Missouri State University and stayed close as we built our careers as therapists. Along the way, we kept noticing the same thing. Women going through big life transitions often needed more support, connection, and space to just be.

We dreamed up Modern Arc as a calming, modern, and human space where women could feel supported through all seasons of life. What began as conversations between friends has grown into a collaborative wellness practice we’re deeply proud of. Today, we feel lucky to support women right here in the Kansas City community as they grow, heal, and evolve.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Building a business while navigating our own life changes came with its share of challenges, from learning the business side of things to balancing growth without burning out. There were moments of uncertainty and a lot of learning along the way, especially as we figured out how to build something that aligned with our values. What made it easier was doing it together and staying grounded in why we started. Those challenges ultimately helped shape Modern Arc into the intentional, supportive space it is today. Most recently, the end of our lease after three years prompted an intentional decision to move locations. Although a hard deicsion has been a very exciting one for our future.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Modern Arc Wellness, we support women through life’s big transitions like motherhood, careers, relationships, and personal growth, while also working with teens, couples, and providing parenting coaching. Victoria and I specialize in helping women feel seen, heard, and empowered to be themselves, and we bring that same approach to the teens and families we work with. What sets us apart is our holistic, collaborative approach. I’m most proud of the space we’ve created, a place where women and families feel supported, encouraged, and connected, and where we’ve been able to bring in amazing providers so we can continue to grow and offer even more resources to our community.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What we love most about Kansas City, Missouri is the sense of community and the mix of creativity and warmth you find everywhere. We love exploring the city, from local coffee shops and restaurants to events and creative spaces, and we’re always inspired by the people here who are passionate about what they do. At the same time, we’re excited to continue offering more support to the Northland community where we live and work. And of course, we can’t help but cheer for the Chiefs along the way!
