Comfy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Have you ever heard of the quote born to create? Pretty sure that’s my purpose. I’ve been an artist for awhile now, like AWHILE. I’ve dabbled in almost everything beauty and fashion. I love helping visions come to life and making people feel beautiful, it’s my niche. Thee Creatives was established in 2021. We specialize in braids, locs, makeup and styling. Our mission is to help make people, places and things more beautiful. Our team currently consists of Comfy Stennis, Xi’Leah Jennings, Zaniya Roche, Tenavia Lewis, Trinity O’Reilly and Tyree Nassir.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No it hasn’t been smooth in the slightest. It has been a roller coaster of events and emotions in business and personally. We are on a mission for a safe space to create for our growing clientele and others.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are the power to influence through fashion. We specialize in customizing hats, bags, clothing and other personal fashion wear. We are proud to create a sense of community with our fashion finds. We also take pride in influencing people to create art in any space they are in as it can be therapeutic. We don’t gatekeep information when asked about building a brand. We want to provide a helping hand in getting them to their desired destinations. I have extended my platform to young creatives in my family and community like Tyree Nassir of Surreal Styles Xi’Leah Jennings of Bliss by Xi and Zaniya Mcgaugh of Zaza Styles.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I have been naturally creative since I was alot younger. Through the years I have loved the process of finding new ways to create. There are many mediums but I have experimented and used hair, nails, make-up, and fashion as a creative outlet.
