Today we’d like to introduce you to Bay Shreve.
Hi Bay, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been crafty, and one who will get into any “hobby” and either do exceedingly well or I lose interest…I’ve gained a handful of skills from this over time! BUT party planning/decorating is my favorite, by far! Beck And Bay was originally going to be a small business selling handmade soaps and t-shirts. But after my oldest’s first birthday party, party planning and decorating became a passion that I just had to share! I still make t-shirts (and custom jean jackets too!) but setting up a detailed, themed event for a friend or family member really filled my cup! And now I love to share that with others as well!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have absolutely been struggles. There still are, and I expect there to be more along the way. I think that’s just a part of starting your own business. These obstacles teach us something and help us improve. I think my struggles so far have mostly been my own mindset- trying to keep from getting discouraged and making sure I don’t get in over my head with everything. It’s been hard to get comfortable with putting my name out there and remembering to take “Instagram -worthy” photos of my work!
I put Beck And Bay on the back burner for a little while too. But that gave me time to do more research and figure out where I wanted to go with my business so I’m thankful for the little bit of struggle.

Beck And Bay is an event planning/ decorating business, and I also make personalized jean jackets!
The events I’m offering are birthday parties, baby showers, and bridal showers. My specialty is themed parties! I love making sure every detail of a party goes along with the theme from the invitation to the decor to the party favors! The details are my favorite part of planning! I can plan something extravagant or something more simple! The party is customized to the client!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
As someone who loves to plan a party (and hosting!), I am actually quite the introvert.
