Today we’d like to introduce you to Avrion Jackson.
An entrepreneur, artist, and a designer with an aesthetic sense. Born and raised Kansas City influenced by creatives in her family from every generation. No matter which hat she wears on the creative spectrum, always remember “Her Life is Her Art” meaning she will always put her best foot forward when creating for you!
Being a creative has always been in her blood! “Avrion! much is given, much is required. If you’re going to do something, give it your all!” As her mother would say, pushing her to pursue her dreams being a creative. For as long as she could remember, to be innovative has always been a trait that genuinely gave her fulfillment. Thus leading to take various of classes offered at her high school being of Center Senior High. After completion of high school, filled with so much optimism, she was accepted to International Art Institute of Kansas City, KS for Bachelors in Graphic Design after two semesters of completion, life had other plans for her journey with the loss of her oldest brother and no more funding left in her scholarship, leading to drop out of school. Months had passed of not having the motivation to not create but on a random day, it came back she listened to some Adele and started painting again. From one simple post on Facebook lead to inquires and orders! It was then that DesignsbyAvrion was born.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Upon starting my public artist journey, it was very smooth sailing but I will say once noticing that being a creative knowing my gift and using it for monetary purposes definitely came with some obstacles along the way. One of my favorite quotes when things get rough that I say to myself is “The proof of passion is pursuit” this quote I abide by when facing obstacles like not having creative motivation, loss of loved ones, fighting depression and so much more.

When purchasing from Avrion, you obtain a unique expression from her inner thoughts and everyday life! You also build a personal relationship that aids in creating your custom art medium that ranges from home decor to visual artistry. What I’m most proud of in my creative journey thus far is to be 1 of 6 artists to curate the Black Lives Matter Murals all around Kansas City areas hosted in 2020. It still baffles me that I was hand-selected but it also gave confirmation that I am truly living and thriving in my craft. I feel that sets me apart from other visual artists is having to see things differently, my mind never stops creatively! I can look at basic items to others and literally see how it will be revamped to make art functional in everyday life, great example of this is my Africa shaped art pieces into coffee tables.
