Hi Autumn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my journey with modeling a little over 7 years ago. Right after high school I had this vision to bring my love for fashion to life. So, I slowly started to find ways of adding my own creative touch to each photo shoot. Making my way downtown to find new places to shoot, and find new people to meet. That process slowly built up my confidence and the connections I had with people that I still work with even to this day.
Now, almost 7 years later, I find myself still doing photoshoots and working with multiple different creative artist around the KC area. I’ve collaborated with some amazing business downtown and made some amazing connections because of this.
My main objective then and now however would be to be my full self when working in the modeling industry and to hopefully allow other people to be inspired by my creativity and confidence through my work.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to modeling can be smooth but also have its turns. The smooth part of modeling is feeling your best, knowing what you’re doing, knowing who you are working for, and feeling your most confident.
If you’re unaware of these things it will cause for your road to take turns. So, my advice would be trust yourself. If you know you need more time to prepare, allow yourself to practice more until you’re ready. Also, know who you are working for and what their vision is.
Make sure it matches yours and there is no confusions, or this will cause for another turn. Communicate effectively what you want for your vision and express what you don’t want so the line of communication is clear for both sides and lastly BELIEVE in YOURSELF.
At the end of the day, it is you vs you. I constantly have to remind myself that people’s opinions and views of me don’t shape who I am. Your opinions and views of yourself do. So, BELIEVE IN YOU.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in modeling and fashion. In each shoot I like to add my own choice of style to make it more suitable to me. The fun part of collaborating with other artist/photographers is seeing other people’s ideas and merging the two ideas together and making it a master piece.
I believe what sets me apart from others is my ability to light up a room when I walk in. I don’t mean just by looks, I mean by the energy I bring. I strive on being a positive person and bringing that energy into other people’s lives. I always tell myself, you don’t know what the next person is going through, so bring the best you can from yourself to others.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
The advice I would give to those who may just be starting out in modeling is to NEVER give up. Even if you have to make the smaller steps like I did in the beginning, it takes times. You put the dedication and determination into yourself, you will grow.
Just like a flower when it first sprouts, keep watering yourself. You’ll get there eventually. All my love!!!
