Conversations with Ashlie Collins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlie Collins.

Hi Ashlie , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
AshandAudrey.com started with a simple idea — to mix all the things I love most: cute clothes, cozy home decor, good books, and animals. I’ve always loved supporting small local businesses and wanted to create something that gave others that same feeling of connection. I’ve found that the right outfit can totally change how I feel — more confident, more myself. My boyfriend, Andrew, actually gave me the idea to start my own boutique so I could bring all my favorite things together in one place.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Things have not exactly been easy — but every step has been worth it. When I first started AshandAudrey.com, I did not have a lot financially to put into it, so I decided to start with dropshipping. It seemed like the best way to get my boutique off the ground while I worked toward having more on-hand inventory. Dropshipping definitely comes with its challenges — things like higher product costs, shipping delays, and the struggle of advertising on bigger platforms like Google. Those have probably been my biggest obstacles so far. Still, every challenge has taught me something new and pushed me to grow not just the business, but myself too.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ve worked in operations for about eight years, and before that, I was in logistics and inventory management. That experience really helped shape how I run Ash & Audrey today — I love organization, planning, and finding ways to make things run smoothly behind the scenes.

I’m known for my quick thinking and problem-solving skills, which definitely come in handy when running a business. Whether it’s figuring out shipping challenges, managing inventory, or improving the customer experience, I enjoy turning obstacles into opportunities.

What I’m most proud of is how far Ash & Audrey has come from just an idea. It’s become something that reflects who I am — organized, creative, and passionate about helping others feel confident and cared for. I think what sets me apart is that personal touch and genuine love for what I do. Every detail, from product selection to packaging, is done with intention.

What does success mean to you?
To me, success isn’t about how much money is in the bank — it’s about feeling comfortable and happy with where you are in life. It’s about setting goals, working hard to reach them, and being proud of how far you’ve come.

I don’t think I’ll ever feel a sense of “complete” success, because once I reach one goal, I’m already dreaming up the next. For me, success is a journey, not a final destination — it’s about growing, learning, and continuing to build something that makes me and others feel good.
