Today we’d like to introduce you to Annie Jordan.
Hi Annie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Annie Jordan & Trisha Sien – Annie Fannie’s Sunshine
Annie Fannie’s Sunshine was born from a passion to help people heal naturally and feel confident in their own skin. What started as one woman’s mission to find healthier solutions for herself and those she loved has grown into a trusted skincare company serving customers across the country.
As the founder, Annie Jordan has spent years researching natural ingredients and developing products that focus on restoring the skin rather than simply covering up the problem. Every product is created with the belief that healthy skin begins with caring for the skin’s natural barrier and microbiome. That philosophy has become the foundation of Annie Fannie’s Sunshine.
The journey hasn’t been easy. Like many small business owners, Annie has faced countless challenges while balancing family responsibilities, working in healthcare, and building a business from the ground up. Those experiences only strengthened her determination to create products that truly make a difference in people’s lives.
One of the biggest milestones in the company’s journey was welcoming Trisha Sien to the Annie Fannie’s Sunshine family. Originally from Kansas, Trisha discovered the products, believed in their mission, and became passionate about sharing them with others. Her dedication, compassion, and commitment to helping people have made her an invaluable part of the team. Together, Annie and Trisha have grown the business through community events, farmers markets, boutique shows, and by building meaningful relationships with customers who have become part of the Annie Fannie’s Sunshine family.
Today, Annie Fannie’s Sunshine continues to reach new milestones. The products are available at Nebraska Medicine and the Methodist Hospital Cancer Center, allowing patients and families access to gentle, nourishing skincare during their care. As the company continues to grow, Annie and Trisha look forward to expanding into additional cancer centers across the United States so even more people can benefit from products designed to comfort and support healthy skin.
With new packaging, innovative products, and an even greater focus on skin health and microbiome restoration, Annie Fannie’s Sunshine is entering an exciting new chapter. While the company has grown, one thing has remained the same: every bottle is made with care, purpose, and the desire to help people love their skin—and themselves—again.
At its heart, Annie Fannie’s Sunshine is about more than skincare. It’s about hope, healing, faith, and empowering others to shine from the inside out—one bottle at a time.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has taught us something valuable. Like many small businesses, we’ve faced financial hurdles, long hours, and the uncertainty that comes with building a brand from the ground up. There were many days of juggling full-time jobs, family responsibilities, and late nights creating products, attending events, and finding new ways to grow.
One of the most personal challenges has been balancing business with family. Caring for loved ones while pursuing a dream has required faith, perseverance, and a willingness to keep moving forward even when the path wasn’t clear. We’ve also experienced the ups and downs of introducing a new product line to the market, educating people about the importance of restoring the skin rather than simply suppressing symptoms, and earning the trust of customers one person at a time.
As our business has grown, we’ve continued to invest in better packaging, product innovation, and expanding our reach into healthcare settings. Seeing our products available at Nebraska Medicine and the Methodist Hospital Cancer Center has been an incredibly rewarding milestone and reminds us why we started this journey in the first place.
Through every obstacle, we’ve remained committed to our mission of helping people love their skin again. Every challenge has made us stronger, and we’re excited for what the future holds as we continue to grow, serve others, and make a positive impact—one bottle at a time.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Annie Fannie’s Sunshine, we specialize in handcrafted, microbiome-focused skincare designed to restore, nourish, and protect the skin. Our philosophy is simple: restoration over suppression. Rather than masking skin concerns, we focus on supporting the skin’s natural barrier with carefully selected ingredients that help promote healthier skin from the inside out.
Our products are used by people of all ages and have become especially popular with individuals experiencing dry skin, sensitive skin, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, acne, and those looking for clean, gentle skincare. We’re also incredibly proud that our products are available at Nebraska Medicine and the Methodist Hospital Cancer Center, where patients have access to nourishing skincare during their treatment journey.
What sets us apart is that every product is created with purpose, compassion, and real-life experience. We take the time to educate our customers, listen to their stories, and help them find products that fit their individual needs. To us, every customer is family, and we believe that personal relationships are just as important as the products themselves.
One of our greatest accomplishments is seeing lives changed through something as simple as skincare. Hearing customers tell us they finally have relief, feel confident in their skin again, or have found products gentle enough to use during difficult seasons of life reminds us why we started this journey.
We’re also proud of how far we’ve come as a small, family-owned business. From farmers markets and community events to healthcare partnerships and expanding our reach, we’ve remained committed to our mission of helping people love their skin—and themselves—again. As we continue to grow, we look forward to bringing Annie Fannie’s Sunshine to even more communities and healthcare organizations across the country, while staying true to the values that started it all: faith, compassion, quality, and genuine care for every person we serve.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
When people ask about luck, I truly believe this journey has not been about luck. It has been about faith, prayer, obedience, and trusting God through every step.
There have been many moments where the road was uncertain, where challenges seemed bigger than the dream, and where I had to lean on my faith to keep moving forward. Through every obstacle, I have prayed for wisdom, guidance, and the strength to continue. I believe God has opened the right doors at the right times and brought the right people into this journey, including Trisha Sien, who became such an important part of the Annie Fannie’s Sunshine family.
Building this business has required hard work, perseverance, and a willingness to follow where God was leading. From creating products in small batches to seeing them now available through healthcare partners like Nebraska Medicine and the Methodist Hospital Cancer Center, I see God’s hand throughout this entire journey.
I don’t consider it luck when someone finds a product that helps them, when a new opportunity comes along, or when the right connection is made. I believe those moments are blessings. Annie Fannie’s Sunshine was created with a purpose—to serve others, bring hope, and remind people that healing and restoration are possible.
Every success we’ve experienced has come through faith, prayer, hard work, and trusting God’s plan one step at a time.
